We got screwed

I know it's the playoffs and the refs "let them play harder" but you can't just have a blind eye to obvious fouls it's not right and needs to stop next game.

Do they keep the same crew for the entire series or do they switch them game by game?

What infuriated me more though was that the Wiz kept trying to get the foul called instead of trying to just move the ball for an open shot. If you're not going to get the calls, no matter how blatant they are, you can't keep trying to draw them and throw up off-balance heaves. Some of the non-calls were absurd though.

The Bulls work harder than the Wizards. This game went exactly as I thought it would, despite my homer prediction. I knew we'd suffer more from playoff jitters than Chicago and I knew that Larry would carry.
The higher seed held homecourt tonight. I'm ready for Gilbert to smoke them in game 2.

that's exactly what i was thinkin. they got 30 free throws, they can't expect to win the game on the free throw line. they gotta find a way to get the ball in the basket by running plays. not hughes/arenas running up the court 4 on 1 taking wild shots hoping to make it and get the and 1.

jordan is going to have to tell hughes and arenas that there are 3 other guys on the team too. we were moving the ball nicely for the first quarter and a half then hughes got hot, and the gameplan went out the window.

well, that was one thing that bothered me.

The others were:

We have no effective high screen or power picks in our offense. When a defense is in your shorts, it really nice to run a strong pick up high to get the defender off you. This is what B Gordan was doing all game and it was brutal on Hughes to have to slam into all those bodies. We dont do this. We have that finess weave we do. It doesnt punish anyone. I saw us do something that resembles this a couple times late in the game but its not the same as doing it all game. AJ ( aka, the mop ) set a nice pick once.

Gils foot work on D is terrible. He mad a few late recover plays where he gave some effective D but overall, he gets beaten off the dribble all the time because he lunges at the player he is covering and then they blow by him. He also doesnt play the pick and roll well.

Add, AJs ( man with is feet in concrete ) and you have 2 starters, starts who play poor D. Gil bothers me more then AJ because he has quick feet, he just has terrible form and technique. Hes strong. He should be great but he is pretty bad.

No way we should have been beaten on the boards like that.

So, though we did some things well. Hughes was excellent. Kwame played great. Dixon did well. Haywood was blocking shots. Etan showed some nice play.

I dont like EJs offensive scheme and Gil and The Mops are terrible defenders. This is why I dont think AJ is a playoff team starter. We need to upgrade at that possition. We need a scorer who can also play D and some needs to teach Gil what to do with is feet.

How did Kwame play like a man possessed in the first half, only to come out flat in the second?

The Wizards played one on one yesterday. It's amazing we almost won the game. No pick and roll, or plays involving multiple players. Hopefully we can improve this.
