so yea, he did it under duress, you could say. i can't claim to crawl into his mind to help write his goodbye speech, but i can tell it you it saved 15,312 packets of hot sauce (mild? please - it's hot sauce for a reason, if i have to double up and say i want hot hot sauce, that's a bit much for me) 181 lbs of cheese, refried doesn't mean we didn't get it right the first time, and let's just say i've grown accustomed to punishing cows to ensure the cream was really sour.

so how does ralph fit in? ok, i'll admit my petty-ness in that i can't stand a cool skins fan. i feel safe that up until recently i never had to worry about it. i mean, come on - your guy fans buy floral dresses on tv and hop into cars after scaring little kids.

while that's great on a simpsons episode, it bothered me. so i took him. he's in the back of my van and i'm going to begin my brainwashing to make him a fan of . . .

i'll leave it at that for now.

if you want ralph back, it's simply a matter of a scavenger hunt at this time. i'm going to ask for several things along the way and if you can find them, i'll let ralph free.

Frankly, you may want to throw out this part of the quest. The qualification that dogs had to exist in the setting of the movie is a problem. Where/when was Shrek set? What about Heavy Metal? Did dogs exist in Middle Earth? And, like you said, if dogs don't have to exist, there were like 7 Land Before Time movies, and you could also throw in Dinosaur and Ice Age.

I would have thrown in Final Fantasy. That's set on Earth in 2065, and I didn't see any dogs in the previews. Justice League is one of my son's favorites, dogs do exist in Metropolis and Gotham, and in fact there's a scene with an alien pretending to be a dog in Justice League. I'll guess Wind in the Willows, because there are no dogs in the book, at least. There are no dogs in The Tigger Movie, or indeed, anywhere in the 100-acre wood. Personally, I soured on Ralph's schtick when he chose to "leave" the board to a self-stroking fanfare of herald trumpets, then studiously ignored sincere requests from the board as well as personal contacts from the staff that simply asked for a quick heads up as to the real situation. Guess I just don't much care for this kind of "performance art." Andy Kaufman he was not.

We've been talking all summer about what kind of threads should be moved from the main board, and I think the position of the admins and staff has been pretty clear; we're leaving just about everything here for now, it being the offseason and a slow news time and all, and only moving stuff when it gets "out of hand" in any way.

While I'm with those who find this particular thread utterly tasteless – and not all that scintillating – I say we let Ralph (or his wannabe, whichever), and whoever wants to play along with him, do so as long as it doesn't stray any further into name-calling and get even MORE juvenile.

If it does, it'll get moved. If not ... it'll just slide off page one on it's own in relatively short order.

Look guys, I admit that my brand of humor can sometimes be a l ittle different, but I certainly wasn't condoning this guys thread here. I was attempting fo mock him. I'm certainly not going to spend any of my time searching for answers for his "quests". With that said, i'm certainly not going to condemn someone for participating either. This is what I meant about joining the club. This would clearly be one of the goals, either that or he just wants to see the way the board reacts. It worked. Personaly, I could care less what the guys after. Like it or not, Om excluded he was responding to us, by responding,we probabely made his day. I really just don't take things like this all that seriously. It's just not worth it. In retrospect, I probably should have done what the majority of the board has obviously done. Just ignore him like you would the child of somebody at the store who insists upon throwing a tantrum.

Boy, this thread and the previous Ralph-dying thread are really unfortunate. Somehow a pretty good guy (Wacky Ralph) has managed to pull a stunt that made people feel pretty sore, and now has compounded things with this bizarre kidnapper thread. I really wish everyone would cool their emotions about this, and I wish Ralph would realize that he's not helping by this bizarre shaggy-dog quiz show, which smacks of egotism -- whether or not the kidnapper is Ralph.

Ralph posted at least 300 pretty good posts before driving off the road, and people have quickly forgotten that he was probably the liveliest member of this forum. I probably laughed more at his posts than those of the rest of the forum combined. That's why I'd hate to see bridges burned here -- which seems to be happening.

Guys, it's not like Ralph drove over your mother. Get over it. He pulled a questionable stunt -- big deal. Now this kidnapper quiz game compounds things. In both cases, I think Ralph was aiming at humor, but seems to be missing. The quiz game seems to be a device to re-enter the forum, whether it's being deployed by Ralph or some associate / significant other.

My guess is, if the quiz game had been only three questions and had centered on Redskins trivia, it would have sailed through fine. But it's overly long, off-topic, and "kidnapper" was pretty peevish about resets and the like. So the game ended up sounding coy and egotistical, and rubbed salt into some wounds of folks who took the death post literally.

I just wish everyone would get over this and get on with this great forum. Guys, stop making Ralph feel unwelcome, and Ralph, enough with the stunts. Apologize, give a simple explanation, and get back to the old Wacky Ralph we used to love.
