Cedar Point is def.the best amusement park I've ever been to.I believe it's rated #1 by the people who do such ratings.

For those anywhere near the East Coast, there is an incrementally larger version to be found at Six Flags Great Adventure this year.
That does require visiting a Six Flags park, but it is one of the better Six Flags properties (whatever that may mean to you). It's no Cedar Point, of course...
One thing to keep in mind is that Cedar Point's version uses only a lap bar, making for a more thrilling and comfortable ride. Six Flags' version will have shoulder restraints, unfortunately.
For perspective, the white roller coaster next to the New Jersey ride below is about 100' tall.

If you guys really like your roller coasters, there is a web site you should check out.
www.rcdb.com
It is the roller coaster data base. Lists all of the specs for past, present, and future coasters. You can search by state or type of coaster. Pretty cool.

Wow that thing looks sweet. For a small park, Cedar Point always comes out with some really insane rides. I just wish it was a little closer to me.

Cedar Point is actually one of the larger amusement parks, at 364 acres.
Disney owns an ungodly amount of acreage (28,000 acres in Florida alone), and Six Flags in New Jersey has lots of land too (2,200 acres), but in both cases most of the land is outside the park(s).

Am I seeing only 10 people per train? By the time I get through line Jason Campbell will be in the hall of fame.

I've actually ridden on that thing, and it is insane. i waited in line for 7 hours too, it took so long because they had just opened the ride and it would break frequently while we were in line, and then a thunderstorm shut down the whole park for an hour, and then the ride broke twice more after that.
but i finally got to ride, and i was even in the front row, and it is freakin' sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!:D

Unfortunately, these rides still have a reputation for breaking down frequently.
Bring a book and something to drink! ;)

I am going to get my season pass for Cedar Point today. Anyone who plans to come this summer PM me and I would be more than happy to give you the ins and outs of getting the most out of your day. If you do it right you can hit all the roller coasters 15 (16 if you have a little kid) without too much effort in one day but you need a plan.
