Hi all.

As some of you may know - my mother just bought a Burgandy and Gold expedition....this is our tailgating vehicle for Skins games.

We asked at the dealership if a TV tuner is available....they said only as aftermarket....She's got the DVD overhead console w/ a video and stereo inputs - what we were thinking was getting a TV tuner put in the thing.....or having one that we can just "rig" for tailgating games - to watch pre-game or early games (not many of those this year).

I did a little search online and found TV tuners that look like they are hardwired into the vehicle.

TV Tuner? (http://www.mobilevideozone.com/product_view.aspx?product_ID=4323BDF7-4E11-4B2F-B3B6-341B5F5D4733)

That is a possibility - but how about an option we can just plug into a Ciggy lighter (We have power inverters - so 120V is possible) - use RCA jacks and plug into the DVD player - play the sound through the Expedition's sound system.....etc. A remote would be nice - but not necessary. Big antennas on the outside of the vehicle are discouraged - possible to plug something temporary in?

Frankly, not worried about hanging cords in a temporary application.

Anyone know of a cheap West Coast Customs on the East Coast that does good work?

You know - it is funny you mention that.....the deals right now on SUVs are so crazy - she was trying to add stuff onto the vehicle and even asked about fancier rims at the dealership.....but amazingly, they just said - nope - not available. Were I the dealership - I'd have said....no problem and outsourced it.....probably to http://www.americanoutlawrims.com/.

Seeing as she's in the twilight of her 50s....I don't see her going for some serious chrome and trying to roll on whatever enormous size rims is cool to roll on these days.....but if she ever says - Dayum GV - I gotta get some spinners on dis beeyach.....

......you will be my second call - after I call to get her in a home.

From the looks of the Tuner you gave the link to, it's no big deal to make it an easy plug in with a little work. Putting a cig lighter plug on the power cord for the tuner is no biggie. I'm assuming the DVD has the aux input jacks in the open either at the DVD or in a intior pannel midship. The biggest thing is permently mounting the antenna with it's jack accessable when needed. It's a good possability that the antenna is tuneable, and if you mount it once and tune (antenna trim setting) it, you won't have to dick around when you need it.

 Didn't look at the DVD pic.................jacks in the front:laugh:
