Damn...all I got for my 16th birthday was a driver's license :(

‘It didn’t harm him,’ mother says of effect on 16-year-old son

Updated: 5:32 a.m. ET May 29, 2005NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A mother faces criminal charges after she hired a stripper to dance at her 16-year-old son’s birthday party.

Anette Pharris, 34, has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and involving a minor in obscene acts. The boy’s father, the stripper and two others also face charges.

“I tried to do something special for my son,” Pharris said. “It didn’t harm him.”

About 10 people under the age of 18 were at the birthday party in September, including minors who were not related to the family, authorities said.

Police spokesman Don Aaron said minors are not permitted in adult establishments.

“A person shouldn’t be allowed to circumvent that law by hiring a stripper, a lady who took all her clothes off and spent a good amount of time dancing around minors,” he said.

Anette Pharris took photos at the party and tried to have them developed at a nearby drug store. Drug store employees notified authorities, police said.

“Who are they to tell me what I can and can’t show to my own children?” the mother said.

Is it just me, or is there something wrong with the people developing your film carefully studying it, and telling others about it. I think that the pictures should not be allowed into court. this is invasion of privacy if i ever saw it.

maybe i'll get this pleasure in a couple days. you never know...:fingersx:

not to be the party :pooh:er, but there were other kids there besides hers. i think that is where she went wrong more than anything. except, of course, taking the pics to the drug store to have them developed. :wtf:

OMG... what a dumbass for bringing her film into a store to be developed. For something like that you'd want to either capture it on a digital camera and/or a camcorder. I'd have no problem doing that for my son. The only person that I think I'd ever have to justisfy my actions to would be my husband and I don't think that would be a problem ;) And come on now... do you really think that these 16 year old boys that were at the birthday party never saw a naked woman... :2cents:

Man, did I grow up in the wrong decade or what. . . Teachers selling drugs to students, moms hiring strippers for their kids, the fact that it's in to have been a bisexual female in college. . . man did I miss out

Tell me about it! And don't forget the best part we missed out on: Teenage girls constantly and casually providing oral sex. My wife used to coach girls' high school b-ball, and told me one evening she had to excuse herself from the table when she took her players out to dinner because the conversation turned to who had sucked whose wiener over the weekend. Teenagers are throwing "rainbow parties." Dang I grew up at the wrong time!!!

Tell your mom that the folks you've been talking to on the internet think it's a great idea.

Let us know how it works out. In a few years.

Was this kid a loser? Why couldn't he hire his own stripper? No way I'd let my mom pick out one for me...

I don't really see anything wrong with hiring a stripper for a 16 year old's birthday party. Those kids need to be getting comfortable with women parts and things of that nature so they can fully enjoy their youth.

My problem though is with the film developers. How did those nosey ass people even know the kids in question were under 18. Mind your business and develop the photos.

Wait until the kid is 18, don't have his under-age friends attend, and DON'T take pictures that need to be developed (digital only!), lady...

I took film to be developed to a local camera store and specifically said, "I have pictures of naked women on this film. Can you develop this for me?" No problems here, but I assume all the women were over 18.

D*&$, what kind of magical childhoods did some of y'all have?? At 16, strippers were mythical creatures only spoken of by my uncles after many beers at bar-b-ques. I could only imagine - never had any way to actually pick and choose.

I feel sooooooo deprived. Then again, according to my Dad, he had to walk 6 miles to school, up hill [both ways] in blizzards with only a windbreaker and sandals made of cardboard. So I guess I was lucky. :D

Taking the pics was a big mistake, however overhere a mother is sending her 16yr old son to Amsterdam, to sleep with a hooker, if he passes his exams. Coleen Nolan was part of an reasonably succesful group called the Nolan Sisters in the 80's, and despite protests from her ex, she says she will keep her promise to her son.
