Bobby Simmons - 15 ppg, 6 rpg, 4 apg

Cuttino Mobley - 14 ppg, 4 rpg, 4 apg

Marko Jaric - 10ppg, 3 rpg, 7apg (6'7 and a good defender)

Antonio Daniels - 11ppg, 2rpg, 4apg

Michael Finley - 16ppg, 4rpg, 2apg (Assuming Dallas releases him.)

Latrell Spreewell - 13ppg, 3rpg, 2apg (No chance Pollin would
want him here.)

Doug Christie - 7ppg, 3rpg, 4apg (Great lockdown defender)

Flip Murray - 7ppg, 2rps, 1apg (EG drafted him when he was a Buck. He would make a nice 3rd guard.)

Sarunas Jasikevicius (spelling) - Former Terp, and unanimous best player in Europe. He's signing with an NBA team this summer.

-------------------------------

I certainly could be forgetting some options. If so, please add them on. Going off that list Finley and Simmons seem like the most attractive options. It'll be interesting to see if we go hard after Jaric and Daniels though. Both guys can handle the ball, which is so important when you consider our offensive scheme.

As a point or shooting guard? Either way I don’t like the thought of Dixon or Hayes starting next season. It makes Larry leaving hurt so much more.

I think they need to keep JD coming off the bench...I like Blake starting if they can't get anyone better at the PG to have Gil slide to the #2...losing larry does hurt the Wiz, but he is being overpaid at $14 mil...u can't have $40 Million tied up with your 3 perimeter players and you still have a glaring hole at the 4 spot.

Marko Jaric can play both spots, but came into the league as a point. So he's on the list of points. Thing is if you want to move Gil to the 2 you're going to have to get him a tall partner in the backcourt. Fortunately, Jaric fills that mold. The Clips would have a shot to match if we signed Jaric though, since he's a restricted free agent. Here are some of the notable free agent point guards though:

Gary Payton - 11ppg, 6apg, 3rpg
Chris Duhon (Restricted) - 6ppg, 5apg, 2rpg
Jeff McInnis - 12ppg, 5apg, 2rpg
Earl Watson - 7ppg, 4apg, 2rpg
Keyon Dooling - 5ppg, 2apg, 2rpg
Damon Jones - 11ppg, 4apg, 2rpg
Dan Dickau - 12 ppg, 5apg, 2rpg
Damon Stoudamire - 16ppg, 5apg, 4rpg

Blake starting  Some of the MD homers on here kill me. If Blake went to Duke, you'd be calling for his head. This isn't Cole Field house anymore guys, Blake is wasted space.

I'd like to get Mobley.

Anyone have any information on Sarunas Jaskiceardjfaiew? I'd be curious to see what he's like. If he's from Europe, chances are he plays the game the right way.

I looked at the list and thought the exact same thing. Not one of those dudes listed is even close.

You know, almost none of the players you've listed really plays the SG position.

If I was forced to choose I'd take Bobby Simmons since he's shown he can do quite a bit and be willing to improve his game.

For some reason I have this feeling the Bullets are going to be ok.

I'd definetly go with Jaric...I wanted us to draft two years ago....because we needed a point then as we need one now....with him at point he can pass over shorter point guards that try to guard him....then we can have Arenas breaking ankles at the shooting guard spot which is his natural position.....

I wouldn't mind Gary Payton at all but he may be jailed in Canada for assault or some crap.

They all either do play there, have played there or have the ability to play there.

I watch more basketball than you. If I'm so wrong why don't you name some options instead of posting some smarmy remark.

Trade picks for Paul Pierce
He would be a serious upgrade and Boston is shopping him.
I would like Joe Johnson if Pierce doesnt work out
Simmons would be nice but apparently he is going elsewhere.
Curry for C!

just my :2cents:

p.s. does anyone know how many picks we have next year?

Now who's posting some smarmy remark?

And I wouldn't choose any of them. I'd grab an inside presence and let Hayes start at the 2 especially since Simmons just signed with the Bucks for a lot of cash. Everyone that's left isn't really much of an upgrade, unless we can get Finley for cheap, over Hayes and we'd be paying yet another person at the G spot.

I'd look at Brevin Knight at the PG spot but since we've tendered an offer to Blake I doubt we'll be moving Arenas to the 2 spot or signing another PG.

We should have 2 draft picks, one in each round unless we do something with them.

It's becoming painfully obvious that we are going to be greatly down-grading at SG. I'm not sure if Hayes fits at that position, he's certainly not as fast of LH.

Any chance of us greatly upgrading up front?

Antoine Walker is a free agent PF....I would love him!

Signing a guard is a necessity. Jarvis is more injury prone than Larry ever was. I like the Finley option as well, but I only see him signing somewhere where a ring is a distinct possibility.

I think if I had to choose one it would be Michael Finley. We couldn't sign Francis because him and Gilbert couldn't play together. It wouldn't work.

as a rockets fan, i'd like to say that you zards fans would be thrilled with cuttino. i hated to see him go. he'd be the perfect compliment to arenas and jamison. he can handle, create his own shot, great perimeter shooter and plays d. to top it off, you will never hear him complain about not getting enough touches.

stone cold...thats an interesting free agent, even tho hes kind off a undersized SG...u have great points tho...he can shoot and create his own shot ...and i didnt know he doesnt complain, i thought he was the kind of person that DOES complain when he doenst get enough shots!

and i didnt know he doesnt complain, i thought he was the kind of person that DOES complain when he doenst get enough shots!

he was one of the most ardent supporters of running the offense through yao. it was also common for him to get into stevie's ear for not being aggressive enough with the ball. don't get me wrong, he'll launch 12-18 shots a game, but he shoots a high percentage and thrives on letting the game come to him. although he's gone, he's still one of my favorite players. to be perfectly honest with you, and trying not to let emotions get involved, i think for what the zards do offensively, cuttino > hughes.
