Seems that is dead. And all I can say is good riddens.

I hate to see Larry go but now this team belongs to Gil and AJ.
Gil is obviously the later team leader based on age.

After next season you may see AJ deal because of the cost of his deal, well see. Depends on who else steps up this year.

Now you will see our GM model the team in a better team directions.

Our 2 guard will be a pure shooter who will also allow the ball to make it down low. We are going to play bigger this year. More points from the post. This is the direction we need to go in order to go deeper in the playoffs.

Good post.
I can't believe all the optomism going around after Hughes leaving. I love it.

Hopefully Kwame can bring us some depth, and we are rolling!

I think the only way to make a positive out of this situation is to try and package Kwame and another piece to get a big and a g/f.
Possible deals:
Sign and Trade w/ Memphis- Swift and (Miller or Posey) for Kwame, Jarvis and Steve.

Sign and Trade with NY- Sweetney and Crawford for Kwame, Jarvis and Steve.

Just some possibilities to make the best out of this situation.

I don't follow. Why? This isn't MLB. Maybe if the Wiz and AJ have a horrible season, they'll try to. But he only has 1 season after this year, plus a player option year. If we trade him, we have to bring back at least 15% of his salary. And if he has another good year, what could we possibly gain from trading him? Maybe if some moron GM wanted to trade us a couple of young All-Star caliber players, it'd make sense, but if you trade him when he's still All-Star caliber himself, just because he's making a lot, why break up something good? I'd much rather keep him than take someone else's overpaid garbage to get cap room a year early.

Well, its because we have a real GM. For this team, paying Hughes that kind of money would have only tied us up for years to come. We are still very young and growing. We have to be nimble.

Besides, EG is growing a champion team. The team that gets you to finally win enough to make it to the playoffs isnt neccarily the same model that takes you all the way.

If Hughes would have stayed for reasonable money, great, since he didnt, EG will take this opprotunity to mold the team for a championship. Hes probably on a 2-4 year model.

I made a lot of predictions in the past and most have come trust.
What we do next isnt so clear to me. I dont know the who NBA as well as some of you do or as well as EG. My predictions have been more about our players who I see all the time.

At this point, I leave it in EGs hands. If he adds someone great. If not, Im fine with seeing what we have for one more year.

One more year will allow us to see what Hayes and Jefferies can add to thier cames. See Etan healthy. See Haywood strong and more mature.

We dont have to do anything, but if we do, Im sure EG will do something smart.

I think this is the exactl wrong thing to do.

We need to keep as many of these guy together as we can.

Continuity is a major thing for a young blossoming team.

We did as well as we did with a ton of injuries. Keep them together.

It's cause we have EG in the front office. The dude knows what he's doing. If this was Wes Unselds doing, I guarantee we'd all be very afraid for what next season would bring us.

I have posted tons about this in the past which I left of my my last post so I can understand the confusion.

In short. I like AJ. I like who he is and what that does for the team. I like most of his scoring. So its not that I dont like him or see his possitives.

I believe hes best when scoring from the outside, when set or in transition going to the hoop. Hes weakest when he is forcing his game, trying to create on his own or driving out of the flow of the offense. He cant create like Gil does.

Because he, until the playoffs, showed poor D against both the 3s and the 4s, my point was, he doesnt make as good a starter as he does a 6th man ie Dallas. And as a 6th man, he cant make that much money.

Sure there are ways arount this. Again, its been posted about before. You can configure the team to cover his weakness and keep him starting or just ride out his contract till you can resign him for less and use him as a 6th them, when his is older.

EG will figure it all out. Hes here next year, thats for sure so Im not worried about it now. Well know better what to do following this coming year.

Well I am glad you leave it up to EG to figure out the direction of the team. :)
