What up guys, it's been awhile.

And I've been seeing flashes of the Wizards reports on ESPN, but didn't know that Hughes signed with the Cavs. And no! i wasn't checking the internet either. But sorry to Hughes go, but like I said before he left. i think it was coming and also thought we would be okay if he left.

And now, that I do know that Kwame was traded for Butler and Atkins. We should be okay...But IMO, as most of you probably agree. Larry was not worth what he was asking for. And so what it's not the big three anymore. And frankly, the big three was one of the resaons I thought Grunsfeld would let Hughes walk if the asking price was too much.

Hughes was a good player when it came to steals. But frankly, that was it. Don't say I'm crazy, but IMO it's the truth. Hughes was not a true shut down player or a franchise player. And that's what he was asking for was franchise money "he musta been crazy" thinking he was gonna get this.

IMO, As I said all along. Hughes can be replaced. But what makes it even better is that the team is now going in the direction of moving the ball more. And with Hughes and Arenas jacking up shots like they were, something had to give. Don't get me wrong, if the price was right Hughes would have been resigned. But not for the price he was asking, he musta been nuts or something.

But with Butler, Hayes and some others on the roster the wiz will be okay and I'm sure of it. But we do need maybe another descent PF.

But now with Hughes gone and the additions of Butler, Atkins and maybe another player through FA. The Wizards should be a little more well rounded and have the ability to get our bigs involved.

Also, I did get a chance to check out the summer legue games. And hopefully Andray can continue to develop and be something Kwame wasn't as far as production was concerned. And for those ramos lovers thinking he was gonna be a descent player this year with the departure of Kwame, forget it. Ramos has a long way to go as I stated before the departure of Kwame or he entered the Summer league games. I just couldn't see it, Ramos being a force this year.

Anyhow, here's to the upcoming season and playing the Lakers and cavs.

Also, i'm seriuosly looking at relocated back home to Maryland after being here in texas for many years. Man! it would be and feel so great to be back home and be closer to some of you guys and attending Redskin/Wiz National games. So, here's to wishing me the best in my plans to relocating back home.

Peace.....

Great post. I agree with everything you said redalert.

What people dont realize is caron butler CAN play defense and at 6'7 230 he can defend both the shooting guard and small forward. What we lack in Hughes steals next year we will make up in better on the ball defense. With the pending signing of donyell marshall people dont understand we are getting a huge upgrade to this team. In 25 minutes per game while being disgruntled in toronto he averaged 9.9 boards a game. Thats remarkable productivitiy. He is listed at 6'9 but having him on the floor is like having another 7 footer. His wingspan is absolutely ridiculous. He changes alot of shots and his shooting is absolutely key to this team. If we had donyell last year we would have taken 2 against miami. Atkins is also a huge upgrade to blake and dixon at the point. He was the starting point guard of a 50 win team just a few years back. Arenas will get much needed rest this year. Also Jamison will get more shots with hughes being gone. Im not worried at all. Ill be sitting in the lower level when cleveland comes to town with a big fat sign saying "Larry Who's?"

Marshall is a huge downgrade from Jamison....But a huge upgrade from Brown....He is a journeyman...that is all...and dont believe he is incredible at defense...Webber, definitely...Marshall, NO!
SAR is a starter, Webber is a starter, Walker is a starter, Marshall is bench help. Foyle or Murphy are alot better at defense than Marshall and played on the same team. We could go after Tskitishvili if you want a bad GS PF.
