Vic Carucci made a positive note about either the Redskins or Dallas having a chance in taking the east...This is the first article I read where someone talked positively about the Redskins.

The Redskins and Cowboys figure to be the closest challengers to Philadelphia. The deciding factor between these teams is which gets the better production from its quarterback. Ramsey still has plenty to prove and must be more consistent in his performance, particularly when it comes to getting rid of the ball quickly. Bledsoe must demonstrate that his struggles in Buffalo the past two and a half seasons were not a sign of a career in deep decline, and that all he needs is some ultra-tough love from Parcells to return to the impressive form he showed upon first arriving in Buffalo in 2002.
I'm not really sure he's saying that one or both of us will actually challenge for the division...more that we're a little farther along than NY and would probably fight for second place. Either way, it wasn't a bad review.

Feels like he's saying what many of us here are saying, that the Skins pretty much have a top caliber defense in place, Pierce or no Pierce...and the improvement needed on offense to move the team into playoff contention hinges on the play of QB more than anything.

I don't agree with him.
For whatever reason..... I just feel that the Giants are going to take a modest step forward this year and at least finish 2nd in the division.

I agree with the first part of your statement.
As for the second, I really think that our division will be very good this year, so I'm not sure who will finish where but I think all 4 teams will be better than they were last season.

The only reason he would rate us above the Giants is because of our elite defense, and the theory that Dallas will return its defense to elite status as well.

I think everyone is going to be surprised at just how bad the Cowboys rookie defense is going to be this year. We should be the only real challeger for the devision. The Giants arent going to be good with just Buress on offense, their defense is stil suspect, and Strahan isnt getting any younger. No worries in the devision like last year. T.O. is an unhappy camper and that will translate into lockerroom cancer (I can hope). Im more surpried that noone in the media is smart enough to give us any credit.

Just an old-time defensive struggle. Classic, I like it.
