Seahawks | More about Alexander
Tue, 26 Jul 2005 17:22:30 -0700

Jose Miguel Romero, of the Seattle Times, reports Seattle Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander signed a one-year, $6.32 million contract this afternoon following a half-hour visit to team headquarters. The contract Alexander signed is not the tender offer. It contains language that prohibits the Seahawks from franchising Alexander at the end of this season, and if Alexander plays out the season, he can become an unrestricted free agent. If no long-term deal is reached by the end of the season Alexander can sign with any team.

Is it just me or do others think Alexander is a bit overrated as well? I know he gets statistics, but he never looks dominating when I see him in games.

Almost 1,700 yards rushing and 20 total TD's. You can't be overrated with those numbers.

And it is more astonishing that no team was willing to part with a third rounder for this guy.

And, the kicker is that even if he has another great year, he won't get a BIG contract. That's my op......

Ya'll forget the age issue with RBs. Yes, he's a stud in the league right now, but few teams want to give big money, long term contracts to RBs. To linemen, corners, quarterbacks, yes, but not RBs. That's why you draft RBs.

He'll end up in San Fran or Philly next year. He's a great back, and would have been perfect for this team if we didn't have Clinton.

You can draft a rookie back and have a good chance of getting production out of him. The RB position is tricky look what happened to us with Davis, too much money tied up in one position and he had to go.
