View Full Version : Are you my Andyman?
God Help Me, I'm in Texas

Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's...Andyman?
http://www.vmikeydets.com/article_print.asp?articleid=59007
(8th picture down)
Let me explain.
After reading his posts (and being completely blown away by his accuracy) I decided to try to figure out who this guy was just for the hell of it.
So i did some research.
I figured he was probably close to the Redskin information nerve center, perhaps working at Redskins.com itself. My premise was based on A) he knew when news was going to break to the national media and B) he often prompted us to visit Redskins.com.
I also figured his named started with Andy (i'm sherlock holmes, i tell ya! Though, it's quite a clever moniker if you think about it, it would include both his first name and a natural rhyme scheme off the expression "Candyman". *See China's post from the song "Candyman" later in the thread)
So armed with this hypothesis i searched: "Andy redskins football". And sure enough, i found an Andy. An Andy Krauss who has published three articles for Redskins.com. The first was published January 7th, 2005. The second on April 12th, 2005. And the third on May 15th, 2005. (note: nothing before 2005)
(see links: http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=5502 http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=6032 http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=7082
A coincidence, you say?
Maybe. So i went alittle bit farther. I did a search for "Andy Krauss football". And that's when i found the first link. Under the picture of Andy, it reads "Assistant SID (meaning assistant sports information director)...Andy (Krauss) is leaving VMI Sports Information at the end of the week. It's dated August 12th, 2004. Remember, Andy Krauss's first article at Redskins.com wasn't until January 7th, 2005.
Most likely the same Andy Krauss, but is he our Andyman?
It's hard to say but maybe this is a clue (the icing on the cake): just three months after Andy leaves VMI and goes down the road to begin publishing history and team information for the Redskins at Redskins.com, a curious thing happens. Extremeskins.com gets it's newest member, you guessed it: Andyman's first post is November 1st, 2004.
It reads: "The trophy is in a case in the lobby of Redskins Park. Has been there for years." (sounds like a man who knows his information, doesn't it?)
Then again, maybe this is all false. Maybe i'm just throwing you all off. Maybe I...I mean Andyman (aka. MA Danny) doesn't exist. Or maybe you're all just getting alittle too close! Too close I tell ya!!!

First of all, being a native Texan, I really have a hard time with your user name. I am very proud to be in Texas.
Secondly, why not leave well enough alone?

I honestly don't think Andy cares. If he did, he might have left his first name (if it is his real first name) out of his username.
I've read pretty much everything he has posted on here and he's never really said he needs to keep his identity under wraps or that he's given information that he really shouldn't. As a matter of fact, all he really does is just talk the football and break the news. He doesn't get into his mythological status that he has gained around here.
He's probably just chuckling saying "It took them long enough" or something of the like.

Sorry, i just use it as a joke Blondie. I have nothing against Texas (except the heat) the people are nice, the women are beautiful and there's a great university right down the street. I don't mind changing if it really bothers you.
On the Andy topic, it's really just a wild goose chase. The name rhymes with "candyman" and that's what he brings so...who knows. But i couldn't resist, my minor's journalism.

GHMIIT has done nothing more than I've done. I've researched the same thing but I didn't get the same information. Great internet investigative reporting.
But it probably is better if you had left well enough alone..

I agree with Westbrook, I don't think he cares. Also why is it such a mystery? He is not leaking information that will get him in trouble. He seems nice in his posts to tell us if he did not want us to know who he is.
Maybe everyone enjoys the mystery more than the truth?

That's basically what it is. I can't think of anything he has posted that might violate any terms of his employment, but ofcourse I'm not him and I don't know what those terms are, so who am I to say.
I think everyone is just mad God Help Me figured it out before they did, if in fact he figured it out at all.;)

More than likely, yeah. He is getting a kick out of it. However, what's the problem with erring on the side of courtesy and just leave well enough alone? We're grateful for what he does and provides to the site and it's okay to just go thanks.

I am very thankful too. Just don't think he cares. I doubt he would stop without warning us. Also, I dont think he wouild ever do anything to jepordize his chances of staying with the org. Maybe Gibbs told him to report it here, since Extremskins has become popular with the Skins.

God help me, I'm in Texas - My mama is from Texas and I've lived in Texas twice myself and I still like your username. Don't cave under the pressure. And about the andyman thing, we are still not sure you cracked the case. BTW Shiner has no affiliation with the stinkin' cowboys, thats a beer you can drink.

Regardless if he cares...we care
Someone always has to try and ruin it...
Does the board need to know this?

I just appreciate the breaking news from an actual Redskins source instead of when the post F---s up the current information (see Coles trade, see Arrington).
Thanks Andy,
Quite frankly I don't care who you are, but appreciate the heads-up.

Yeah Candyman...Andyman, I posted this in another thread:
With apologies to Sammy Davis Jr.:
The Andyman
Who gets up at sunrise,
Giving us the news?
Cover it in insight and a miracle or two?
The Andyman
The Andyman can
The Andyman can, cause he mixes it with love
And makes the board feel good
Who can take a rumor,
Wrap it in a fact?
Soak it in the truth and make us all take a step back?
The Andyman
The Andyman can
The Andyman can, cause me mixes it with love
And makes the board feel good
The Andyman makes everything he writes
Satisfying and delicious
Talk about your Redskin wishes!
He gives us all the dishes!
Who can take tomorrow,
Write it up today?
Separate the rumors and give it to us straight?
The Andyman
The Andyman can
The Andyman can, 'cause he mixes it with love
And makes the board feel good
And the board feels good
Because the Andyman thinks it should!

Pretty impressive work. Now, is he doing this of his own volition or was he instructed to by someone higher up the ladder? If he feared being found out he never would have used his real name.

If the search to find him was as easy as Texas has said, anyone couldve done this.
But I will agree, if all of you did not want this information revealed, it shouldnt be.
Lock and close the thread possibly?

I think he'll be less forthcoming if he is indeed this guy.
While he hasn't posted anything bad about the organization, some may view him posting inside information on here as unprofessional.
Thus we may have seen the last of Andyman's news.
But, at the same time, anybody "in the know" who works with him who actually reads this board and his posts would surely be able to guess who he is if his first name is indeed Andy, so it may not really matter if he's been outed by someone here. Anybody working with him who reads this board probably would be able to guess anyway...

I'm happy to let the subject drop completely, i did my little research bit and that's fine with me. But i think it's interesting what Blade said in the forwarded thread about him being a freelance writer, if so, why leave a full time position with VMI. (again, always the curious chap)

It was a dark, muggy night...much like this very night. I was settled in with a good book and was close to turning out the lights, when a soft knock was heard at the front door. Not expecting any company at this hour, I suspected a kid's prank, a pair of missionaries, or perhaps a talented squirrel. I clapped the light off, pulled the covers up to the chin, and exhuded that final sigh of contentment...eyes slipping to mere slits...when BANG BANG BANG...the distinct sound of a knock a the door. What the F***, who in the world could be at the door? Boy am I gonna give these kids a piece of my mind. I get up and make my way through the indoor twilight. The deadbolt slides open and, as I quickly open the door, I'm greeted by ...
