i've been computer shopping, and i found this site for refurbished computers.
the only things that i do are surf the net (extreme mainly), im, email, burn cd's, and if i buy this, burn dvd's. specs are like greek to me.
will this computer be fast? is it a good price?

for the price 80gb hard drive and 512mb ddram is good. But for similar prices you can get a brand new notebook with similar specs. You'll most likely have to use rebates though.

Honestly if your just surfing and word processing then you don't really need a fast computer. You might need a large hard drive if you are planning on having lots of music though. (80gbs holds alot of music)

I would look at a used notebook before refurbished ones. If you want to spend around 700-900 bucks then look for a new one. The speed will be fine for you as long as its around 1GHtz and 256+ MBs.

Don't worry as much about clock speed (mHz) as the amount of ram. Get as much ram as you can afford, especially if you multitask.

Wait till Dell offers one of their 750 dollar coupons on their notebooks. You'll get a new laptop for less than that refurbished one.

www.slickdeals.net for the coupon.
