Got boarded by the harbor patrol this weekend...

My dad, my brother and I were out fishing this weekend on my dad's new boat (which is a big step up from his old one I must say) and we were near an ammo loading dock out between the HR Bridge Tunnel and the Monitor Merimack Tunnel.

The harbor patrol came over and pulled up beside us and boarded us. They were not asses or anything, they were very cool and professional, it wasn't an inconvienience at all. None of us are middle eastern so obviously, there isn't any racial profiling going on. It was nice to know they were out there doing their job. In all the years I've been going fishing with my dad out on the James River and in the Chesapeake Bay, this is the first time we've ever had that happen.
At least they are out there.

LOL... Sorry, I caught 15 flounder, non were keepers all between 10-13 inches and I caught 4 croker, 2 of which were caught on hooks with no bait. I stopped bating the top hook after a while and believe it or not, the idiot fish went after the empty hooks.

My dad caught 1 flounder (he was using a different rig and was trying for larger fish, so he kept losing his bait because the hooks were too big for the smaller fish's mouths. He also caught 2 crabs...LOL.

My brother was shut out.

I told them it was because I could care less about fishing. My brother is a diehard fisherman and I just like being on the boat, I'm usually the driver for the two of them because fishing isn't really my thing. So I always catch a bunch of fish, crazy how that works.

Interesting ... I was out on the Potomac last summer a few times and we got boarded literally three separate times (one for each time out on the river). It was during the week, so there were not a lot of people out there.

Definitely tends to cut down on the drinking on the water too :D
