I will be drafting number 9 out of a 12 team, performance TD keeper (1 player) league. Also of note, RB's in this league get 1 pt per catch. I will be protecting Payton Manning.

After all of the protected players and 9 picks, I will be looking at the following RB's (hopefully) at 9:
Julius Jones, Kevin Jones, Curtis Martin, Stephen Jackson, Lamont Jordan.
Who would you take?

I am a little bit scared about C. Mart's age, as well as Faulk stealing some TD's from jackson. Out of those three, I would take K. Jones, but I think he might be gone.

Lamont Jordan could be this years Priest Holmes. Jordan has been waiting for a chance to be a #1 back, this is his chance, take him!

Agreed. Not about the Priest Holmes part, but yes, I think he could have a huge year. The Raiders are going to be very dangerous vertically, so the DB's won't be able to cheat the run. Jordan could also get a ton of draw plays.

Thanks for the advice - I had been leaning towards L. Jordan and you all confirmed. Hope he slips to me!

Steven Jackson cause thats my boy..hes from Las Vegas, NV a local guy tore it up at Eldorado High and then tore it up at Oregon State and now hes gonna tear it up in the NFL on the Rams. Watch him burn fools this year.. full time starter and can catch the ball and run the ball on the high powered offense of St.louis!

Seems like you've made up your mind on your first round pick, but might I suggest B. Westbrook for a pick quite close to that? If you get a point per reception, you can count on at least 4, probably more, points per game just from receptions for him. And with the tiff between McNabb and Owens, and Pinkston gone for the season, Westbrook might be the only guy in that offense that McNabb trusts to put his hands on the ball every time it is thrown to him.

Kevin Jones will be Huge this year if he holds up

I'm going to go against the consensus and say Kevin Jones. He's going to outperform Jordan in fantasy points this year.

If JJ isn't too fragile, he's the best remaining. If not JJ, then KJ. Curtis Martin is amazing, but damn he's old. Jordan is gonna be disappointing.

I second the Westbrook pick. Your league awards points for reception, which is his strength. Look at his stat from last year in yards from scrimmage and you'll be amazed!

I never pick Cowpukes on my team...ever.

1. Curtis Martin if he's there. He's NOT "old."
2. Stephen Jackson if you can't get Martin. Jackson is a BEAST. I have him on my squad.

I say you go either Jordan or Julius Jones.
