Ricky Williams leaves Dolphins playbook at Pittsburgh hotel

DAVIE -- Ricky Williams is a voracious reader, however on Saturday the enigmatic running back left the team hotel in downtown Pittsburgh without the Dolphins most precious book of all -- the team playbook.

Apparently a maid found Williams' playbook in his room at approximately 7 p.m. or 30 minutes before the original game time, and brought it down to the front desk, according to a report on WEAE-1250 am, an ESPN affiliate in Pittsburgh.

"We do the pregame shows from the Marriott all the time,'' said WEAE events coordinator Troy Schooley. "One of the hotel managers told me what happened and that one of the Dolphins security guys came back [from Heinz Field] with a police escort to pick up the book.

"If it was a rookie it wouldn't have been such a big deal, but knowing how much teams cherish their playbooks, it just had to be Ricky.''

Williams, who already owes the Dolphins $8.6 million for breaching his contract last season, is most likely facing another hit in the wallet, possibly a $5,000 fine.

Williams gained just nine yards on five carries in an error-filled 17-3 loss.

The Dolphins are expected to comment on the 'misplaced' playbook later this afternoon.

Staff Writer Alex Marvez contributed to this report.

Just wondering...marijuana is a "safe" drug, correct?

How safe can a drug be if it turns your brain into a steaming pile of mush?

wow he left a preseason playbook around, what a terrible thing.

A playbook is a playbook, and leaving one around is really bad form.

They should let the man smoke his weed because thats the only thing that kept him sane. You can tell that he's miss'n a few marbles just by the way he looks. HE look like he just got picked up off the street with his facial hair. This is one case where someone should have medicinal weed haha

It might be damage control but according to the Dolphins head coach Nick Saban it was not a playbook that he left in the hotel room. It was a only a play list for the game that night. 2 pieces of paper compared to a huge book. Easily forgotten I guess but I am enjoying everybody piling on Ricky.

Um, that was my personal decision. I thought it was in good taste.

While I was busting my @ss at training to bring you camp reports for free.... you were doing what exactly?

And when you were listening to the Redskins/Ravens scrimmage on the radio or reading the play-by-play... I was in the parking lot passing out ExtremeSkins business cards to anybody with Redskins gear.

Many of whom were families with children. I can't say I felt completely comfortable knowing they'd visit the site with Onterrio Smith cartoons with swording fighting with black dildos. Or the Babe Thread. Or drug smilies.

You here for Redskins talk? Or drug cartoons and babes? Seriously.

You may call it selling out. Or perhaps you truly have no understanding of the people who provide the site... and the reason why the actually built it.
