For those of you listening to 980 yesterday, they were playing the "best of Spurrier" sound bites...
What is your favorite Spurrier moment??.... just looking for some laughs

"Darkerian" McCants and "Well, we finished 5-11. Not that good, but, heck, there were some teams out there that did worse"

That was easily the best Spurrier quote ever. The way he said it was gold.

The best quote he ever made came without an audible. It was during that one game when the cameras caught him puffing out his jaws and flapping his lips like a duck during the fourth quarter of a game.

Cheap? Women aren't cheap. You're paying to get them into your car & once you do, you're paying for the rest of your life. One way or another.

As the "Darkarian" quote illustrates, Spurrier didn't seem to able to remember his players' names. There's another clip they play where he can't seem to remember Branden Noble's name and finally gets it.
Another one, after a bad loss in his first season at Jacksonville: "It just seemed such a nice night for pitching it around..........."
As disappointing as Gibbs' first season was, at least we knew he was busting his tail. Spurrier just seemed to be mailing it in most of the time.

The best was on the middle of his first season when asked about the game that they won by a field goal he said........
"Yep, we saw the opportunity to get that kicker out on the field and win the ball game. So he kicked the ball and squirreled it on up there."
Hilarious!!

As he himself said, Washington was a tad north for his liking
He stuck out here like a sore thumb. Sort of a Mr. Smith goes to Washington, except without the nice ending

Two Favorites:
"...Well (click sound with mouth) all we have to do is beat three teams..." (meaning Giants Cowboys and Eagles) not sure what his record was.
...and
"...here are the injuries, Chase Martin..." (for Martin Chase) back when I listened to the Sports Reporters, one of Czabe's best lines "...Thank you, Spurrier Steve..."
sorry one more:
"...Hello media people!..."

I don't if it's my favorite, but on his last coach's show on TEM when asked why Washingtonians should be optimistic about next year & he didn't have anything to offer. I had always been a Spurrier supporter until that night. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor b/c it was clear he had no interest in even pretending to be optimistic. I knew he was likely gone at that point and certainly realized it was time for him to split. It was amazing.

When asked to comment on DT Bernard Holsey's performance after a game, Spurrier replies," I wasn't really watching the D line today", as bad as he was on Sunday's, he was a very likeable guy
