Over many years of observation, I've developed a theory of what type of personnel it takes to win in the NFL. Basically, two things are most important:
1. A powerful, well-coordinated offensive line. I believe we have that this year. The QB's will have more time to throw and the backs will have room to run this year.
2. One star player each on the D-Line, at LB, and in the secondary - just one in each unit because you can fill in with good players and be a strong defense. But we have much more than that. We have two star LB's and two (possibly three by mid-season) stars in the secondary. So we're loaded on D.
Right there, we may have enough to win. But we're not done yet. We also have one of the better RB's in the league and one of the better TE's (actually H-Back) in the league.
If these players are used properly - and I believe they will be - we should win.
I don't know why we're so underrated by the media but I'm glad we are because winning will be so much sweeter as the underdog.
