was definetly Ben Roethlisberger's. I saw more black #7 jerseys then any fan favorite on the Skins. I know this has been discussed but it was almost crazy the amount of Pittsburg fans at FedEx last night. When the pittsburg fans were waving the towells it looked like half of the fans in each deck were Steeler fans. I know its only preseason, and Pittsburg isnt all that far, but that sucked. I hope a winning season changes all that.

Season ticket holders tend to sell the PreSeason tickets and there are tons of Steeler fans in the area. They take over Tax Payer Stadium in Baltimore every season, so really it wasn't a surprise by how many Steeler fans were there last night.
Good thing they got to watch in person their team get ripped up by the Skins.

Look at it this way. They came that far to watch their 15-1 team with the #1 D from last year get dominated. :)

I've complained about this sort of thing for years. It seems like since we moved to Fedex, there are too many fans of the other team and we lose homefield advantage. We see it during the Dallas and Philly games too. I just hate the idea that we don't have a true homefield advantage. I think winning will help but the front office needs to step it up and try to get more skins fans into the game.

Who cares?
Did anyone hear how loud it got when Lavar entered the game and after we scored our 1st TD?
The cameras make it seem like there are more opposing fans then there really are because they concentrate on the areas that are more densily populated with them. Generally opposing teams fans will get seats in the same area to make an "impact."

I think the FO is doing their part this year by cracking down on the scalping on Ebay and at the stadium. I think big part is for fans to make sure and care that they are selling tickets to a Redskins fan...
Yeah there were a crazy amount of Pitts fans and Roth jerseys. But once we took the game over all you heard was the Skins fans, and to their credit - was no nastiness at all on the walk to the car. None that I saw anyway. Retreated quietly into the night. The Skins fans however, were crazy loud !!

If Big Ben got figured out already, there will be plenty of angry Steelers fans out $80... ;)
Then again, I'm still upset about my #36 jersey being rendered obsolete. Sigh...

It had nothing to do with cameras. I was there. There was an incredible amount of terrible towells in each deck.

I don't think it will get as bad as Arizona Cardinal Games. I went to Phoenix for the 2000 Game and about 40% of the fans were Redskin Fans. People I have talked to say that there is usually good showing for visiting team fans and when the Cardinals were in the NFC East it was like another home game for the Cowboys.

Yeah, I thanked them as they were leaving for the revenue and for helping support our signing bonuses.
The best moment of the night for me was shutting up the Steeler fan behind me after we scored our first TD making it 10-10.
Steeler Fan (trying to yell over the cheers): It's just one touchdown...that's all you got!
Me: That's all YOU got!
SF: ___________ uh, yeah, well there'll be more, just wait.
...as they were leaving I informed him that I was still waiting.
Talk trash all you want...but damn it, put some friggin' thought into it!

Most Steeler fans (who once lived in Pittsburg) have moved to the DC area because of jobs, so you got to expect alot of their fans to be at a game like this.
The town I live in here in Maryland has more Steeler and Raven fans then Redskin fans.
Oh, that reminds me, I need to go see a certin Steeler fan that lives up the road from me to collect on our bet.
He said the Steelers would win last night, 42-0.

I was in section 109 last night, right by the Skins tunnel, and I was surrounded by black and gold. First they talked trash about how good their team was, then as we dominated them, especially our rockin' D, they kept talking about how they make the playoffs and we don't. i told them it didn't matter if both of our teams were watching the superbowl from our living rooms. i kept telling them, "ummm, try winning something in 25 years..."
Great game but soooooo many steeler fans. we have to change that come the regular season.

I did see a lot of Roethlisberger jerseys in the stadium, but many of them were worn by teenage girls. He's very popular in that demographic.
The other thing I noticed was when I saw a number on a Steelers jersey, I knew whose it was without seeing the name. For the Skins, you never know whose name is gonna be on the back. Ex: if you see a 21 or 24, it could be one of many. And obvly there's a lot of turnover in WRs. You can't even buy their jerseys yet!

Yeah it sounded as if Fed Ex was cheering for the Squeelers when they were on defense.

Sucks how they all have a jersey that majority if the rest of the players don't like Big Ben from his own team:

Know I know the source is probably not the greatest. But regardless, his rookie year will be his best year. Next Dan Marino my @$$!!!

Big Ben looks like a flash in the pan.
He certainly does, and quite frankly I was never that impressed with him. He seemed nothing more than a younger version of Trent Dilfer v.2000/2001 with a greater propensity for turning the ball over. More escapability, I guess, but that defense and running game won games for them. They just needed Ben not to lose them.

Yea man it was wild to see all of the Pittsburg fans. I don’t understand how Metro area people don’t want to be skins fan. I will always like the skins. I hope this year that all changes. I think that’s one reason the skins can’t do their best out there because we don’t have enough fan out there to support them. We all need to do something about this. Today I recruited like 3 fans from this other site I get on hahaha it was great.

The cameras did not lie. There were many, many opposing fans at the game. It was annoying. Not as many as Skins fans but too many opposing fans. When Ramsey threw the interception the crowd was roaring like the Skins had scored or something

I saw alot of 7's at the game but that didn't suprise me as Pitt is so close. I do believe I saw more 56's though. Including my girlfiend's and mine
The funnest part of the night was a guy sitting in front us to the left as you came out of the tunnell for section 220 and he was wearing.....get this.... a DANNY WEURFUL jersey.......I swear.

True, it will never get as bad as that. Also in San Diego when the Raiders or Cowboys or any other bandwagon type team plays there (Packers/49ers years ago) the crowd is over 50-75% for the visitors. I guess thats what they get by having a team with a huge % of the population being military members who aren't from San Diego at all.

you're right on all 3 counts. - pre-season tickets are easier to come by, Pittsburg is close and have a lot of transplants around here, plus they were good last year.
Pittsburg has never bothered me as a team, they're old school and fans are loyal.
