The line looked great and the new blocking schemes looks to suit Portis perfectly. It looked like he was one slipped tackle away from a home run a few times.

I am so happy we have this player on our team. He looks strong as hell, and I agree he was one step from a break 3 times that I could see. His presence is going to make Patrick Ramsey's job a lot easier IMO.

Clinton has to stay on his feet at times, he tends to lunge at the wrong times. He looked great though!

Clinton is what he is. A very quick back who also has good instincts and breakaway speed. He is really no different than he was last year. What is different is that there aren't 9-10 men crowding the line of scrimmage because the Skins are throwing deep.

I still don't understand why they weren't at least throwing deep like this last year. As I have said for a year...its not the completions...its the THREAT of the deep pass that keeps safeties and corners from coming up to play the run. Gibbs has finally allowed these guys to throw deep...and it works.

How much do you think he will sell for? Maybe go in at belmont or kentucky derby? :applause:

very well said, i agree it is the threat, although it's nice when the completions happen also, that's gonna allow CP 1700+ yards this year!!

You're right about this. It looks like he goes down before anyone hits him. I noticed that last year and was hoping it would be corrected this year. Not that I'm complaining - he's awesome - even/especially with the added weight.

What's lost on all the PR haters is how much a great RB can help the QB out. Ramsey is going to be fine with 2 horses in the backfield and Moss bailing him out!

I'm not taking anything away from Portis' running last night, but he may have made some questionable decisions.

Early in the game, on an off left tackle run, Portis shockingly stayed with his blockers. Now the result was a nice 7yrd gain, but if had performed a 'Twister'-like maneuver (e.g. right hand on blue- only after switching the ball to his left hand, of course) he would have easily glided back to the right hashline, punking defenders in his wake, and ending up with an 8 yrd gain.

7 yards isn't bad, but 8 is better. Until Portis improves his decision making (and he can, by following that lucid description above) he won't be able to lead us to the promise land.

Again, taking away nothing from his running...

Ramsey is the ANTICHRIST!!! Portis may be too!
