Isnt that some good news..they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on a national TV game and thats a team that went for a total 16 and 2 last year with the number 1 defense in the league, but the :helmet: lost to the Carolina Panthers and Cincinnati Bengals who both didnt even make the playoffs last year. Some things just boggle my mind! So the good thing is that we won! What happens now cause the game dont count..I dont think that we can get all excited yet because they won a preseason game. Yes, its better than losing a preseason game, but just cause they won the game doesnt mean that they are gonna have a good year. I hope to GOD though that they blow it up this year cause they havent done :censored: since they won the division in 99' and nothing before that since the superbowl! Am I the only one that feels this way? Anyways..Im not sure exactly when ok so dont quote me on this, but I remember just a few years ago no more than 2, that the :helmet: went 4 and 0 in preseason and look what happened. I just dont want to get to excited and I dont think anybody should yet either until the real games start. If we beat the Bears week 1 and we end up whippin' Dallas Ass :whippin: week 2 on Monday Night Football now thats something to start going crazy about then we have a bye and week 3 Redskins going to Denver so that Clinton Portis could show the Broncos whats up while David Patten and Santana Moss burn the secondary. Hahaha..watch out Champ! Also 1 more thing I hate Dallas! :dallasuck http://www.thehogs.net/forum/album.php http://www.thehogs.net/forum/templates/dvdfuture/images/ralph.gif

Well...good post. But Carolina will be real good this year and the Bengals are set to make a run also. The 'Skins pre-season is hard, hell, next week we go to Baltimore... We have played some tough defenses. I think the redskins will be alright this year, but heck, I am a homer. I think this every year. I love our o-line. They keep pushing people around, making holes for CP and Betts. I think having both of them makes for a nice combination, a change of pace if you will. Should be interesting this year. Our schedule is not easy, but I have a good feeling this year.

our redskins have gotten better each week in preseason, the defense looks like it will be dominant once again, and with our oline playing strong our offense will be much better...our special teams play is strong..you really cant ask for to much more as they prepare to close out the preseaon against the ravens..the key is ramsey,if he can limit his misstakes it will be tough to beat our redskins...LETS GO SKINS!!!!

Lets not forget that the first two games were called differently on offence to work on specific areas. The pit game was the first that we ran a game plan FOR A SPECIFIC TEAM running the offence as a whole as we would in the reagular season, and that is the game we won. Also it still was only a percentage of our plays that we ran, not the whole playbook. A little encouraging I think.

Our OL has played good every game this pre-season. That is real progress over last season.
Last season our OL was bad, we did not have sufficient time for any long pass plays to even be attempted. Our receivers were not quick enough to get separation; so our entire passing game was pitiful. That meant defenses just focused on stopping the run and then rushing the QB on obvious passing downs. In short we had the worst offense that I can remember (and I am fairly old).
The progress over last year for our offense is like turning the light switch on. We still need to work on the deep pass to have that work more consistantly; but that is the only thing I can think of where progress is still needed.

There has been some improvement in the Redskins. Very little in the defense, but then again how much can you improve the #3 defense. The one area of defense I wish they would have improved was pass rushing but they are still living and dying by the blitz. We couldn't pressure anybody this pre season without the blitz and that is going to bite this team at times. But on the positive side, since the offense will be better and score more points, the blitz will be more effective because we will be forcing the other team to throw more.
The offense is still sluggish. Patrick is perhaps slightly more advance than he was at the end of last season, but its still not enough. I remain convinced that Patrick will not look comfortable in this offense until somewhere after the halfway point of the season. If we are 5-3 or 6-2 by then, the Skins will make the playoffs and possibly win the division. But they have to weather the storm for 8 weeks and Patrick must limit his mistakes while learning.

redskins have a dam difficult preseason schedule. Im surprised u pulled out at least one win, but it was only preseason. and i dont think your great play so far this preseason came from anyone on your teams offense besides Mark Brunell.

lol...worry about that douche Kyle Boller, he blows harder than Jenna Jamison, you obviously haven't watched the skins games to say something like that

You improve on your defense by creating some big plays! Remember the Tampa game, our 'D' created two turnovers both of which were very close to auto-scores. I'd be happy if we were only in the top 10 if we create a bunch of turnovers especially ones that give us easy touchdowns! Also, I want to see improvement in allowing scores. Though a big part of that would be for the offense and/or special teams from giving or setting up easy scores, we still need to make some more critical stops (maybe having the defense on the field less will help).

Well...last time I checked, last season was the FIRST time Baltimore has ever beat us. I don't have anything against the Ravens, but thats a fact.....and Colts will beat NE next year

We have improved and continue to improve. As long as Ramsey continues to improve we will win games. The same cannot be said about the Ravens QB.
On a side note, I watched some of the Philly/Cincy game and Palmer looked terrible. I don't think he is the answer.
