View Full Version : Are We The Worst Run Organization In The League? Other Fans Comments...

I was recently surfing the Denver Broncos board and their fans have absolutely no respect for the Skins or our organization. One guy wrote to the effect: "Their starting outside LB is suing the team, their starting safety is being sought after by the police for a felony, their prized WR accquistion refuses to work out with the team...Clinton Portis is telling Santana Moss that he ain't missing nothing while he is down in Miami, their offensives coaches are begging other teams to teach them how to offensive line block, they don't know who their QB is going to be."
They think that the draft pick they got from us is going to be a top three lock.
Man, how far have we fallen? When I was reading it I got pissed, then I said to myself, "damn, they are telling the truth here." I had to take off my rose colored glasses for a while to even think about it. Are we a laughingstock to the rest of the league? :(

Well, Lavar came to terms with the team, Sean will probably get acquitted (still, it wasn't needed), Santana wanted a contract but got to camp, Portis is just being Portis, the offensive line has looked great all preseason, and Ramsey is the QB.
The draft will be in the teens or twenties.

You guys just can't see the truth. I've thought about it and I know it is true...The Skins are the second worst runned organization in the league behind the Arizona Cardinals, and they maybe heading in the right direction. The Skins on the other hand, have no direction, no balance between front office and coaching, no team leader in the lockerroom and the list goes on and on.
I hate to say it, but we will probably finish no better than 6-10 this year and The Skins will have traded a top ten pick to Denver for a QB who is a backup at best. This is terrible.

Are you kidding me??? everything that was posted by those denver fans as you say ALL occured in the offseason. Last time I checked, Arrington settled the dispute, Moss is here, Taylor is here now and he can concentrate on football because the case has been pushed to the offseason. No team leader in the locker rom ehh.....ever heard of John Jansen?

who cares what a denver borncos fan thinks. What have they done since Elway retired? Not make it past the first round of the playoffs? Despite recent history, the redskins STILL ARE one of the most storied franchises in all of football. So let them talk all they want. Let them dream about a top 5 pick all they want. Because the reality is, they are all homers just like we are here, and will always think like that.

SO you really were posting what you believe but were too cowardly to say it yourself.
Can't you just say:
The Redskins Defense just gets it done no matter the person on the field
The Offense is Ranked 2nd and thats with Portis only playing 1 game. (due to all the passes due to Ramsey having a great short game and needing more in the long).
Brunell is playing much better than last year and putting heat on Ramsey
The Owner is distracted with 6flags and other issues as he's given the reigns to Gibbs.
The Coach is known for 2nd season and 2nd half adjustments..

looks like lenny, has broke parole.... oh well
"Their starting outside LB is suing the team,
Marcus is what??? never was a "lawsuit" but a grievence... and every team has one or more every year
their starting safety is being sought after by the police for a felony
no he's not, but has a trail in Febuary... such is life, and has no bearing on the team this season
, their prized WR accquistion refuses to work out with the team...Clinton Portis is telling Santana Moss that he ain't missing nothing while he is down in Miami,
Moss showed... and Portis called to get Moss in the "voluntary" offseason workouts
their offensives coaches are begging other teams to teach them how to offensive line block,
lie next
they don't know who their QB is going to be."
Funny Ramsey has been named starter since before the superbowl... hasn't changed, and Gibbs has backed him the whole time
They think that the draft pick they got from us is going to be a top three lock.

I just worry about the direction we are headed in. I feel that we are lost at sea and the captain of the ship hasn't sailed a boat in over ten years. I wish we didn't make stupid trades like the one we made with Denver this past offseason. I mean, everyone said that this draft was weak and everyone in the bottom half of the first round was trying to trade out of it. But we gave them a first round pick in next years draft which is suppose to be twice as deep as this for the 23rd pick in the draft. I just don't know. We have been losing to long and I don't see the end of it. It is very frustrating to be a Redskins fan right now.

The Denver Broncos have Jake Plummer as their QB. JAKE PLUMMER. And their back-up plan is...nothing.
Meanwhile, the Redskins have a still-unproven commodity at QB (unlike Jake Plummer, who sucks and everyone knows it) and if he turns out to be unable to get the job done, thanks to the trade you have decried, they have a legitimate back-up plan at QB. You've already decided that Jason Campbell will never be more than a back-up in the NFL, yet there is no reason to believe this. He has good size (6'4", 230), he has a good arm, and last year he completed 69.6% of his passes, had a 20/7 TD/INT ratio, averaged 10 yards per passing attempt (not completion), and posted a QB rating of 115.7, despite playing in college football's premeire conference. By the way, his team went undefeated, too.
Also, the Broncos have decided to import half of the Browns defensive players this offseason, which should be frightening to Broncos fans, because the Browns were horrible last season (24.4 PPG given up, good for 24th in the NFL).
Looks like the Broncos fans are chucking stones out of a glass house...
JerseyGator
August-30th-2005, 09:27 PM
When Plummer had Portis with him two years ago, he was the 5th rated QB in the NFL, ahead of Tom Brady. He had an 84 rating last year with an RB committee. He's not great, but better than average.

I beleive the Broncos fan is being a little too harsh; I doubt Gibbs is going around begging for offensive line help (I think Buges may know something about that), and Gibbs has reinforced Ramsey as the starter all offseason. But that said, it's hard to deny that the Redskins have been a laughingstock, though not for the reasons the Broncos fan listed.
It's trading too much to get Portis, and too much to get Campbell. It's going through five coaches in five years and not having the same starting quarterbcak two years in a row since 2000. It's the massive roster overhauls that take place every offseason. We have been one of the most dysfunctional organizations in football - you can't deny that. But of course, that won't stop us from getting to the playoffs this year.

The Broncos are off importing the defense from the "powerhouse" Cleveland Browns this past off-season....
....along with drafting a certain RB in the 3rd round when there was speculation he would be lucky to get drafted in the 7th round, if at all....and he gets cut before ever playing in a game...

Like I said man, just humor them. I've seem them call Courtney Brown an upgrade over Reggie Heyward, to Jake Plummer being better than Tom Brady. I'm serious, Tom Friggin Brady. You'd be better off reasoning with a goldfish.

The Redskins have been bad for a while now but there is no need to think that it won't change. The team got considerably better this offseason and hopefully the competition in the East will return to it's glory days when it was always a dog fight.
The thing about the Redskins is at least they've tried. It's not like Daniel Snyder is sitting around on his ass sitting back and watching the team just fall into mediocrity. He's tried to get the big name FA's. He's tried to get the big name coaches. He's taken gambles. Most of them have failed but it looks like the Gibbs move is going to pay off.
I don't know why I answered this, though. Instead of worrying about the way things were start worrying about how they're going to be. There is reason for optimism in DC.
