Give me a freaking breeak.
A lot of teams look a lot better than they really are in week 1 only to come back down to earth the next week.

Cowboys and Giants will score 3 and 6 points against our D. I'll take 9 points from us.

jbooma...what needs to improve on offense? (aside from the QB arguments we have all been having)

If the QB's can't put up close to 20 points a game, start the rookie and rebuild. I'm sick of hearing the "we are better" BS and watching our rivals do on the field what we can only talk about. It's frustrating and it's been way too damn long.

I don't really mean to sound like a homer here, but really all that matters is getting that win. We of all people should realize how difficult getting W's have been for the past decade.
No matter how ugly, I'll take them any way I can right now. It came down in the end as our D vs. their offense and a rookie QB. They had to move the ball about 50 yards to get into FG range, with no TO's left and less then 2 min. I'll take that any day.
That said, this team has to figure out how to score more points. We won't be facing Rookie QB's making their first start every single week!

SCORING. More points and less excuses.

If the bears managed a touchdown, we will score more.
Both teams will, especially if Eli stays healthy.

Its too early to panic, Chicago has a fierce D, but we do need to put the ball in the end zone. What made this game so close were mistakes, and one blown call by the refs. The penalty on Cooley cost us a TD, the Ramsey fumble should have been 1st and goal us on a personal foul, not Chicago's ball. But most of all, we cannot fumble on kick returns. Complain all you want about Ramsey's turnovers, but all of the teams other mistakes combined didn't hurt us as much as Brown's fumble. He likely won't be starting at kick returner next week.
On offense, our running game needs to be better from the start. Ramsey recovered well from the INT and gave us a decent verticle passing game, even though the Bears were stuffing the run. When Brunell came in, the downfield passing game disappeared. If Ramsey is healthy enough to start against Dallas, the running game will need to be there for him. If Brunell has to start, he will need to be able to get the wide recievers in the game. Bottom line is, we'll need the passing game to work like it did with Ramsey today, and the running game will need to work like it did under Brunell if we want to beat Dallas.

Yeah, week one is hard to judge. The Skins passing game did look improved, and hopefully just gets better. The Bears had a healthier defense then last year, and were better then I expected.

Yes I do. I was at that game with my Buffalo Bill loving brother. You would have thought that they has won the Superbowl......
Guess who actually did??

Can't some people be happy with a "W"?

I honestly don't care who starts at qb as well. As long as we win. None of the options on the roster are going to put up any eye popping numbers on a regular basis.

from my POV at the stadium, the plays still suck. i could call the majority of run/pass based on the formation alone. with all the speed we have, i only saw 1 go route (that ramsey missed). it seems that gibbs was playing not to loose and almost lost.

Lets face it, we all know that the Redskins are not going to be a team that puts up large points on the board. They will probably be a consistent team that:
1.) Takes care of the football.
2.) Keeps the defense fresh by taking time off the clock.
3.) And is able to come out of the red zone with some kind of points.

I'm becomming resigned to us not meeting the first one. The only way to counter this is to make sure we can drive down the field and get into the red zone on a regular basis.

You seriously thing we will hold the Cowboys to 3 points at home? You are nuts. Dallas isn't Chicago. Their offense actually has a pulse. Let's be realistic...it will take the perfect game for Washington to beat Dallas. And history is not very assuring...

I don't think you look at the 9 points and start to quiver. What you should look at is how a rookie QB in his first game at this level was able to keep this game well within reach of a victory. The Bears are a pitiful franchise at this point. I can't comment on where the Skins are until I see them play next weeks game.
