What's up VaBeachSkinsfan - Danville's my hometown, too.
Anyway, I don't want to see us trade Ramsey or anyone else right now for a relatively high draft pick - not until we have a real General Manager who'll know what to do with the pick.

Ramsey is done here...I'll take a 2nd for him.

Hmmm...let me go out on a limb here and say let's keep him for now...just in case Brunell gets hurt. That way, we won't have to throw a rookie to the wolves. Ok?

I would have to agree. I think that the one thing that this guy needs is to go to a different organization to get a breath of fresh air. There is too much pressure here for him to take control and do well.

I'm not sure they have the guts to trade him out of fear that if he develops into a quality QB with another team they will have to eat another huge dish of crow!

No one is going to want him if Brunell is replacing him.
The most I would expect you could get for him is a fourth. If he has no value to your FO, why would anyone trade a high pick? :2cents:

I expect him to be traded. Buy probably not until after the season is over.

If I were Ramsey, I'd demand a trade or to be released. I would not play another down for this team. Ever. He has received nothing but doubletalk and BS since he came here. I dont think he could thrive under the circumstances that exist now.
If Gibbs wanted MB, he should have said so in the off season and traded Ramsey then. Now its too late for him to have a successful year. Of course the Lions need a backup QB since Garcia went down.
Unfortunately, what I see happening is Ramsey going somewhere where a coach actually believes in him, getting some consistancy and turning out to be a great player like Trent Green.
Oh well, our loss, suppose. Chalk it up to yet another stupid Redskins personnel decision....

Oh yeah, Trent is a real great player. He definitley makes that offense what it is.
How about the best o-line, best tight end, (one of the) best running backs in the NFL?
And how many hours have you spent in the film room/practice field? How many times has Ramsey taken control of our offense? How many times has he stood in the pocket without tap dancing any time a defender gets within 7 yards of him? How many times has he tried to guide the ball like he's shooting a free throw...only to get it intercepted?
Sure he's had different coaches and been popped ever since he came here. But you're a pro, and you can't keep having excuses. It was time to step up this preseason, and he's shown that the only throws he can make are when Santana gets 10 yards of separation or Cooley jumps high enough to do a tomahawk slam.
I trust Gibbs. Not you.

It might be tempting for PR to pull a Coles move and say "I am really unhappy- let me go". It worked before (for Coles).
It is hard to imagine why Gibbs pulled the trigger so quickly. But he know a lot more about football than me. Next time I win 3 superbowls and one of the highest winning percentages in history and a spot in the HOF- I will rake him over the coles.... until then.. in Gibbs we trust.

Yeah but you can probably get him for a lot less. This team seems to want to lose.

Am I asking you to trust me? Nope, I couldnt care less what you trust.
This is a forum where people state their OPINIONS...yes, you know...OPINIONS.
Mine is that Ramsey got the short end of the stick. Whether he is a good QB or a bad QB is immaterial. A professional organization should not behave in this manner. How can any player trust what is said to them at this point?
I dont think PR played particularly well in DC nor do I think he ever would at this point. But I do think that if (when) he goes elsewhere, it will be a steal for whatever team takes him. If not, then thats the way it goes, but at least tell it like it is.
What it comes down to is that the one thing we never have is consistancy...ever. Make a damned decision and stick to it...either PR or MB or JC...or go call Tim Hasselbeck back! It doesnt matter. But all this wishy-washy crap of praising the player on one hand and then letting him go (Smoot, Pierce) or benching him (Ramsey) on the other HAS to stop. It sucks for all the other players on the team and it sucks for the fans.
So, believe in whomever you want. Trust whomever you want. But please dont be so damned defensive when people ON A FORUM state their opinion...

there is no way we get a 2nd rounder for Ramsey. We have no leverage because everyone knows Ramsey is unhappy and wants out, and he has shown great inability to make sound decisions. Quality starters and even some great players only return 2nd rounders.

Wait. Hold on are you seriously trying to suggest that Trent Green is NOT a great NFL QB?
