Ahh, the QB situation is here. Emotions are at their most heated. Comments and threads will be created that create a tremendous amount of conflict. We know this. We love this about you and we're happy we can provide a place you can express yourself as openly as possible.
However, given the election and the types of comments that we're already seeing, we want to put everyone on notice. The temp ban trigger finger is awfully short right now. We're not going to sort through a ton of garbage and attempt to herd it.
We're simply going to give people a few days off to calm down a little. Watch what you post. Keep in mind that stuff you might normally get away with won't be gotten away with now. Keep things somewhat restrained if you can.
When someone posts a joke, laugh at it. Don't attack it like it's an affront on your very person. Some of you have been very disappointing with your responses of late. Let's try to keep things together a little longer. Thanks.
Art and the rest of the overworked staff :).

kudos.
As you might imagine, I am all for an elevated dialogue (as we were having even on issues we disagreed about Art).
I think if people spent less time demonizing the "other side" and more time finding common ground, we could all get a lot more done.

Thank you, Art. :)
BTW, you guys notice it's NOT strange to go through crazy times here?
And do you guys understand the response to crazy times looks a whole lot like this?
I bring these threads up for a reason. Little changes here, despite the activity of the last few days. It's common for the board to lose its collective mind. And you're about to find out what the common response to such things are.

this should be permanent. Some people are so disrespectful.

Guess everyone just needs to build a little resistance now that the regular season is here. It's like someone who drinks like a fish, goes cold turkey for 4-5 years, then drinks a bottle of Jim Beam one night...

Not that I'm feeling personally in jeopardy, but I can't help but be curious what sort of behavior would get somebody banned this week that might normally not result in that fate. Are we talking about profanity, personal attacks, and the like? Or saying stuff like "Gibbs needs to go" or "Brunell Sucks"? In light of the Redskins recent acquisition of Extremeskins, I'm curious if and/or how the threshold has been lowered.
Seriously, I'm not trying to be a smart-*ss.

I brought this and the other thread up for a reason.
The threshold is whimsy. Yes, those things will get banned. Absolutely. Has nothing to do with the team. Has to do with controlling yourself a wee bit all around.
These threads were brought up to display this is not uncommon here, has nothing to do with the team, and to remind people, pretty much, if we don't like ya, you won't post. It's good to be kings :). The team hasn't even spoken to us about the board since the merger.
We just talk amongst ourselves.

Is this related to the amnesty that was given to the previously banned posters?

Nope, because only a handful of them have been released :).

Thanks for the reply. That is smart thinking. Letting a few at a time out on parole.

Nope, because only a handful of them have been released :).
And not all of them survived their first 24 hours.
Hopefully that'll help you sleep a tad bit better. :D
