I taped the dallas game as mpeg-2/ dvd format and I can't use windows movie maker to convert it. And about every video converter I found to convert it to avi hasn't worked?
Does anybody know a good movie maker that will let me make some vids or a movie maker that will accept my mpeg-2 format?

If you have Nero or Roxio Easy Media Creator they are both good. If you want I can convert the files for you. Just send me a copy. I sent you an email.

Just use virtualdub-mpeg. It's free, fully-functioned, and will easily convert your mpeg to avi. Virtualdub-mpeg is a modified version of virtualdub that reads mpeg2 files. Virtualdub is probably the best and most popular video conversion software out there.
Why don't you just record straight to .avi or .wmv so you don't have to go through this conversion?
