LOS ANGELES -- Volvo has made the first car designed and developed almost exclusively by women.
It's smart business because women are the fastest-growing segment of the car buying market.
There is a special space in the car for a purse and a ponytail.
The doors rise automatically out of the side of the vehicle to ease entry into front and back seats.
If the car needs service, the car checks the fluids and calls the mechanic directly. The gas cap opens automatically. The seats are mobile and high.
This first car designed by women for women is just a concept now. It won't become a reality until women car buyers begin demanding these features.
