your best best i'd say is supplements, you'll def. need to beef up some, 148 is too small. I use Whey protein supplement sometimes, it works good and will add some pounds on you, as far as muscle u need to work out

I currently am in a medical redshirt year but I'm in the same situation as you right now. Trying to get back up to playing weight after treatment for cancer. I got down to 175 but im back to 191 right now. Dont do all the supplement stuff. Go get "Muscle Milk" from GNC and drink one shake in the morning and one after you work out. Also, dont let a night go by where you dont do pushups or some kind of strength training. Muscle is heavy, and the more you have, the heavier you are obviously.

I am 6'4."

I wish my dad pushed me into football, because I would have loved to play WR!

Eating is 50%. Lifting 25% and sleep 25%. Weightlifting tears down muscle. Most people do not eat enough and gain very little because of this. Lifting without enough food will result in no gain. Food, protein in particular, is used to rebuild it. I've been lifting hardcore for 20+ years. PM me with some goals you have in mind and maybe I can help you.

J Bird is right. Hit the gym hard. Alot of people like to lean on supplements but loaf in the weight room. It has to be the other way around. 4 lifts to really beef you up are Incline Bench press (3*10) Squats (3*10) Powerclean (3*6) and deadlifts (3*4) They are hard lifts and many people dont like to do them, but if you do them, they work.

As a WR myself, I just want to remind you to focus more on your route running as well. Working your tricepts will help you beat a jam better and jump roping will also help your explosion off the line. Weight isnt everything as a wide receiver. Santana Moss is listed as 190 but he is no where near that. He MIGHT be 175, and hes playing at the highest level there is. So really focus on WR things instead of being diesel.

Depending on your endurance level, back when I was that young I was able to do both upper and lower body work outs in a full day and getting pretty big gains out of it leaving me to only lift 3 days a week. Most people now seem to want to focus on one group a day, chest/tri's, back/bi's, legs per day but again, if you can go through everything without getting yourself too tired, go for it. Another big tip is to change up your exercises and don't do the same type of lifts for your muscle groups, you really need to mix in a varity of lifts to give your body a different feel. When you're doing bench or curls, when you completed all your sets, throw on some more weight and do a long negative to really burn your muscles, lowering the weight as slow as possible. Just make sure you have a spotter ready to help you lift it back up as you will need it!

Supplements will also help quite a bit but they can be expensive, haven't taken supplements personally in quite a while but your best bet would be to do some research on message boards dedicated to those type of discussions and find out what works best for people and isn't too expensive. If you're willing to pay for them they're well worth it.

My brother was in a similar situation to you this summer. He wanted to put on a bunch of weight in a short period of time. He was trained by some guy who was a former power lifting world record holder and is currently training some other power lifting champions.

According to him the main thing most people do wrong is they overwork themselves. He suggests going to the gym twice a week. Work out, then leave a three day gap before you lift weights again. This gives your muscles time to recover and you will be able to lift more almost every time you work out.

If you want to work out every day you can go and do cardio workouts on the days you aren't lifting.

Also, take those protein shakes like other people have suggested.

My brother put on about 25 pounds in three months, and he was a similar size to you when he started.

Good luck!

Do a search for 'supplements' on XSkins, and use some of that info to make your decision. If it's muscle you want, stop by your local GNC and pick up some protein and creatine. Slingin'Sammy hit the nail on the head; your diet, workouts, and sleep are essential. It won't come easy, ya gotta work for it

played in hs, now im a freshman in college.
played at 5'10 195 bench at 260

just eat what you want, but make sure you exercise a whole lot, my weight flucuated a whole lot for 3 years.

you have to find out how much time you need to recover after lifting but dont leave too much time in between because taking a week off makes a huge difference.
