Links please? If this is correct, Philly is 8th youngest. And the difference between the 8th youngest and 22nd youngest is 26.17 vs 26.75...hmmm. And they're tied with #21 with players 30+...please provide the links...

Go to the Eagles website and click on players pages. It's not hard.

They have four starters out of 22 that are 30 or over.

You can't really try to spin this can you?

You said they were getting long in the tooth. They're not. It's okay to admit you're mistaken on occasion.

your classic.

way to ignore your own team...brilliant

the eagles are the 8th youngest and you compare them to the 22nd. the redskins are the second oldest team in the league. by your standards they will suck. good thing we agree albeit for different reasons

the eagles have 11 and you have 16 players over 30!!!

all the while you are worried that the eagles are old, yet your team is older

all the while you claim that age predisposes players to injury and that this will cause the eagles to struggle...yet your team is older. your logic should reveal the redskins will suffer more injuries than the eagles.

you should work on formulating your logic, its currently laughable

I love you, too, man.

I do worry about the age of my team. Ray Brown is an old man...drags us down age wise. :D

But the statement I keep seeing posted here by Eagles fans is that the Eagles are one of the youngest teams in the NFL. I didn't post this on a Redskins board...a couple of Eagles fans posted it on this Redskins board.

I'm beginning to believe that the Eagles fans may be uninformed or stupid...about this issue.

And I still haven't seen the links.

Maybe you can help out.

I'm not sure these stats are correct...especially now that the season has begun and rosters have changed. I'd really like a link.

But to address your point about my saying the Eagles are long in the tooth, let me start by saying that McNabb will be 29? by seasons end. He's injury prone (though loss of playing time has been minimal so far in his career).

TO is 32 or 33 and injury prone, Ackers is over 30 and has an injury. Runyan and Tra Thomas are over 30, Kalu is 30. Dawkins is over 30, Hollis Thomas is over 30...hmmm...I think I'm over 5 starters so far...I guess that makes statement about 4 starters being 30 or older incorrect...I might find more, but I'm bored looking at the Eagles roster...

I posted a link yesterday. Are you really this stupid in the head? You can't minimize the difference between number 8 and 22 when your statement was that the Eagles are getting old while we told you they were one of the youngest teams in the league. It becomes obvious to everyone you can never admit the obvious even when it smacks you in the face.

Kickers kick until they're 40. He's young by kickers standards and, obviously, I was only citing D and offensive.

Patterson will be starting with Walker.

I used their birthdays. Get the link yourself.

8th in the league in terms of average age. Kinda hard to put any spin on pure numbers like that tr, but it will be entertaining to watch you try.

Have at it.

Perhaps in your sheer obsession for hating everything and anything Eagles, you may have forgotten something....

Age of Redskins QBs at the time of their SuperBowl wins:

Theisman - 33 years old
Williams - 32 years old
Rypien - 29/30 years old.

Got any other perls of wisdom for us uninformed Philly fans there chief ?

I can see why you Eagle fans want to represent and defend your team. I would do the same. But I have one quesiton for you... why the heck do you spend so much time on a Redskins message board? I see you guys on here all the time. You guys have more post then a lot of skin fans.

I've been here for over three years. It's easy to accumulate a lot of posts in that time span. :)

I started posting here because I found my opinions on Eagles site being swallowed in a green abyss, whereas I thought here I could offer a view from the Eagles side of things, and keep track of a rival all at once. Of course, the site was smaller and a bit more personal at that time, and there weren't quite as many Eagles fans then either, but I've just stuck around since.

Most of us have jobs where we have access to the internet. We often go on your site as well as other sites including our own. Through the modern miracle of minimizing our screens we are able to not only respond to threads on this site but as well as our own as well. I personally enjoy being up here because of the football talk as opposed to the amount of smack talk on other teams sites.

I've pointed out that there are serveral players on the Eagles 30 or over. Please read my posts. I'm not the one who first said the Eagles are one of the youngest teams in the league. I just want a link to the info in this particular thread posted by others.

You know, I only wanted a link for the posted statistics earlier in this thread...none forthcoming. I can only assume: 1) They were made up, 2) they are old, or 3) someone typed them in from a magazine. I'm leaning towards 2...because so far, Westbrook36 has produced an article from September of 2003. I guess the rosters haven't changed much since then, eh?

And, Eagles Legend told me there were only 4 starters of 30 or more on the Eagles and I got to 5 or six before I quit looking...

And we should all go on our merry way and say ad infinitum that the 'Eagles are one of the youngst teams in the league.'

So, please, all of you Eagles fans, continue down your merry path of self-delusion...and don't let the facts get in the way.

TO is 32 or 33
Ackers is over 30 Runyan and Tra Thomas are over 30
Kalu is 30.
Dawkins is over 30
Hollis Thomas is over 30

That's 5 starters out of a possible 24 if you include kickers and punters.......

According to NFL.com, the Eagles have a total of 8 players close to or over 30. 3 of them Mike Bartum, Koy Detmer, and Paul Grasmanis don't start with the majority of their team being born between the years 1976-1982.

I thought I had eliminated the issue #5, but you quoted him so I can still see his posts. I didn't say 30 or more once, I said 22 clearly. And the Eagles projected starting lineup doesn't/won't include more than 4 players over 22 when McDougle returns.

He got caught telling obvious false statements about the Eagles starting lineup, and is now simply attempting to change the topic of conversation. I'm not sure why you guys continue to indulge his strange sense of sadoism.

Listen to me fellas, why don't you take his recommendation and: "tr1
This message is hidden because tr1 is on your ignore list. "

He'll stop posting when he becomes irrelevant, or he'll stop trying to get a rise out of you guys and just talk about football. I tried that with him for a while, but he seems incapable of doing it for an extended period of time. Don't read his posts and he'll leave or become insignificant.

Ok, so show me the proof!

Go through the entire roster of every team, and make a comparision based on first, years of experience, then go based on DOB starting at 1964 which would make the oldest player on a team 44. Go through each team and you'll see, especially with the starters that the Eagles average is about what WB stated.

Though based on NFL Kickoff 2003.......you asked for a link...you got it!

I'm not interested in hunches...one or two Eagles fans have said that the Eagles are one of the youngest teams in the NFL. So far, the proof has been an atricle written in Sept of 2003, some numbers in this post (that are dated and without links) and Eagles Legendz has said that only 4 starters were 30 or older...which I quickly saw wasn't the case.

Anyway, I just want one Eagles fan to back up the 'fact.' I haven't seen it yet.
