Anyone else besides me like our chances against the Eagles this year, especially if McNabb's situation worsens? I do. And here is another thing I'd like to say. ANDY REID IS AN IDIOT! He had the same situation as Gibbs had before their game last week with the kicker hurt except he didn't sign another kicker and decided to try to get Akers out for the season or something. And he will keep playing McNabb, too. Bad things will happen to the Eagles this season, no joke. What's everyone elses take on this?

He did sign a kicker. He asked Akers if he could play and Akers said he could, so Reid believed him and put the other kicker on the Practice squad.

Well,
Mcnabb's situation is tough.....if he gets surgery now. He misses 4-6 weeks and then is probably rusty for another 1-2 games.
That's a minimum (if he heals like TO) of at least 4-5 weeks.
Now if the Eagles win most of those games great.....but that's not a give with the Eagles backups.
Plus, don't forget TO and how his mouth WILL go off if the Eagles struggle and he can blame someone.
Mcnabb says he can play...we'll leave it at that.
Akers was a mistake in my opinion. And he will impact the Eagles season.
He is a very important piece of their puzzle (please, nobody tell me that Akers loss isn't a big deal.....especially Eagles fans) and I think Reid did make a mistake by not activating the second kicker.

I don't believe you. And even if you are telling the truth, why did Akers kick the game winning 20-some yard field goal? Most high schoolers can nail it, put in this "signed" kicker and stop hurting Akers... Not that I have a problem with it!

Andy Reid would qualify as stupid if he decided to trade for Jose Cortez...unless the Cowturds cut him already....did they?

Good points. It may be worth a shot keeping McNabb in but I hope they know that everybody is bringing in the house against the Eagles and guys are going to take shots, but yeah I agree with you, it could be worth it. About TO, well I hate him so much that I think people should stop talking about him so I'm not going to talk about him.

Personally, I'd like to see the Eagles at full strength, no injuries, so when the Skins' kick their arses, they have no excuses. I really believe they're capable of beating them this year.

i guess you missed the interview with Akers after the game. The "signed" kicker was on the practice squad. So you cant just activate him in the middle of the game.
He is now activated tho.

i think reid and the entire eagles organization are showing what kind of users they are. They don't pay westbrook, the cut douglas, now they have mcnabb and akers playing hurt. I mean, this is the most cold-blooded organization in pro sports. media and sports casters can laud them for it all they want. but if i was a player, a free agent, there is no way i would sign with that team. they don't take care of their guys, in any way.

I liked watching McNabb play for SU back in the day. I have respect for him. When the redskins went to philly a few years ago during Green's goodbye tour Philly showed him the love. I think McNabb is classy, I have respect for him. Reid is a fat oaf, why he put Akers in? I Dunno. Don't get me wrong, after the MNF body bag game years ago(Mitchell played QB), I can't see enough eagles go down. The Eagles have ruled the NFC east for a few years. It is now our turn!

Thanks, Chris. Didn't know, I just knew that they definitely didn't have another kicker available.

Well guys, don't talk too fast. Our kicking situation is kind of suspect. With Hall hurt and who is our punter? LOL! Seriously, I do think that our chances against the whole NFC East looks pretty promising.

I hear what you're saying, but I don't agree.
No one wins in this league without some breaks. Our Super Bowl year in 1991, we faced so many backup QBs it was ridiculous. Now, that team was good enough to win whether we faced McMahon or Cunningham, but still...it helps.
This year, if we can face and beat some knicked up teams, I'm all for it.

You have to want AND take ANY break that can potentially get you into the playoffs, especially if you get a crack at home field advantage. We know how well Gibbs' teams play, especially at home, in December and January. Any and all breaks are welcome.

I'd rather whup up on the Fleagles when they're at full strength. Any other team I'll take nicked up. Imagine the excuses we would have gotten from the Cowturds on top of the ones we already have gotten from them, if they were nicked up!!!

Granted, I'd rather beat a team at full strength than beat a team at half strength. But it's much tougher to beat the Eagles at full strength than if they're missing some players or some of their players are playing hurt.

Hey they didn't mind playing us last year with Jansen hurt! You the guys they put on the field and it counts as a W or L.
Don't wish bad luck on anybody. We have enough injuries of our own to worry about.

As much as I hate the Eagles Andy Reid isn't an idiot. He may be an inbred like the rest of the Eagles and their fans, but he's not an idiot. :eaglesuck

I think it's pretty safe to say that McNabb will have a lot of trouble making it through the season. If his injury is in fact a sports hernia. That is an ailment that doesn't go away without surgery or rest. It's hard to imagine him being as successful as they expect with that kind of injury, and even harder to imagine someone making it through week in and out with that kind of pain.
In my opinion they should look at the Jets situation and get McNabb healthy immediatley so as not to put him in further career threatening danger. An immobile McNabb can be devestating for them and his own health.
That being said, I just want to win. I don't care who's on the field as long we get the W. I certainly don't remember who was healthy and hurt that we beat on the road to any of our SB's. Nor do I care.

I highly doubt that McNabb will go for surgery durring the season. He is too touch and too competitve to go under the knife durring a season and be sidelined for any extent of time. The guy has heart and loves to play the game. I dont see him going for surgery until after the season is over for the eagels. :eaglesuck

The Eagles, in a cash-savings move, hired a new trainer this year. He's pronounced Ackers healthy and has said McNabb has nothing to worry about...

Why wasn't the eagles punter in the game to kick the field goals, pat's & kickoffs? I know it's a big difference between punting & kicking, but they're usually skilled at both forms.
That kickoff by their LB (?) was horrible. Looked like a high school girl kicking a soccer ball.
