View Full Version : Look folks, we're back in first place next week if two very likely things happen ...

1. We beat the 49ers at home.
2. The Cowboys lost to Seattle on the road.

Of course, nothing should surprise anyone in today's NFL, but those are two very possible things that could occur. And if they do, we're back in first.

Eagles have a really though game too. I could see us being the only NFC East team with a win next season.

wow that would mean that all of hte nfc east games that take place result in a tie and we beat them all. the giants cowboys and eagles all going 0-12-4 seems kinda improbable dont ya think ;) lol. just as long as we beat SF and keep winning from there on out, winning division games as well, we will make hte playoffs. considering of course that we stop turning over the ball and start to force some kinda turnovers. fix the stupid mistakes as well....

yea the eagles play san diego nxt week so we cud very well be #1 again in the nfc east if all 3 teams fall, which is likely, we just have to win. haha

First place in the nfc east is going to go back and forth all year long

Newsflash,, we're in first place now.
the Giants, Eagles and Cowboys each have a division loss.
the Redskins don't. (or two losses are not even in conference.)
The Redskins have a division win, so do the Cowboys, but head to head, we have the current edge.

It may be by a hair, but we're in first place.

The Skins (.600 win %) have one less win than Dallas (.667 win %).

Hair splitting. Seasons don't end with odd records.
OK, for accuracy's sake, we're a half game out of first place. the Cowboys have a division loss, the Eagles have a division loss and a conference loss, and the Giants have a division loss.
We have two non conference losses and a division win.
Happy yet?

I'm happy, but just a bit irritated for now. A loss like the one we just had can do that to a man. :helmet:

All this team needs to do is eliminate the mistakes. for example: PENALTIES and TURNOVERS.

Dude!! If the best LB in NFL history was playing we'd be 5-0

Seriously, as upsetting as this loss is due to the turnovers killing us, comparing where we are to where we were after game 5 of last season is a nice salve. I've said this in the offseason, but as soon as we blew that 10 point lead to the Ravens and lost, you got the feeling our season had reached a point of no return. Brunell looked like total crap.

And before we crucify the defense too much, we should probably looked at the teams we've played so far this year to what we've played last year. The offenses of Denver and KC are certainly better than the ones of Baltimore, Cleveland, and Tampa last year.

Exactly.

We are the only team not to have a division loss.

I hear ya. I'm frustrated too. It's tough when they make key mistakes and hurt their own cause.
In a bit of optimism, they do it less and less, I guess. used to be we'd kill ourselves every week with regularity.
(Of course, some credit must go to KCs defensive line,, they did play up to the challenge and made things happen.)
But, it's still early, and we're still well within the hunt with winnable games coming up.

We're in good shape.

I think if we just win the rest of our divisional home games, we'll take the division. At this point, that looks like a very reasonable objective.

1. Dont turn the ball over and
2. Get Arrington back on the field where he belongs !

I wish you could hear my cowgirl friend talk today.

I wanted to hit him. I had to explain RATHER FORCEFULLY that we did beat his girls.

So for now, we are winning the NFC east.

Get it together boys.

We are about to be on a wild ride!

If the Cowpukes play like they did this week against the Midgets and last week against Philthy, they'll walk all over the Seahawks. It won't even be close.
