I have been reading many of your guys portis bashing threads and after reading some i came up with some thoughts of my own not just on portis but on our team.
1st I dont blame last game on portis or on brunell or moss but i do think the o-line is playing very weak. Samuels let that chief player burn him and last game all of them are just not playing well. I think our o-line has the potential to be one the best in the league we just have a few minor holes to fill. 2nd all of you who thought it was portis's fault I can understand you anger you thought when we got him he was some kind of god who had a long run in every game, Right now he is in a slump but I belive he will change. I have watched him play since he was a freshman in college I know how he runs and how he plays over all and belive me he will bounce back. Another point I want to make is I think the D is having problems with the run because of taylor, (god that hurt to say that) but yes I dont think he has the field awerness sorry about the spelling. I think after a year or two taylor will notice things a lot quicker.
My conclusion to this is that you guys need to relize that every team has a bad game and yesterday was one for us. You cant be the best every game not even the patriots are the best every game so dont expect it out of us. :helmet: :logo:

This is a good point.

People are here bashing Portis on some threads. Even fewer threads are critical of our O-Line, the one that collapsed on Brunell yesterday.
Portis can run, we've seen that.
Doesn't it only make sense then, just as Brunell shouldn't shoulder all the blame for the sacks, lack of scramling yesterday, Portis shouldn't be blamed for taking on the Giants front 3, 4 or more by himself?

Fix our D-Line to get us pressure on the QB and stop the run at the line. Fix our O-line to give Brunell plenty of time and Portis holes to hit and we're undefeated.

I don't think anybody's blaming Portis for the loss against the Giants. I think people are starting to get frustrated with his lack of big runs. It does seem like if there isn't a big hole, he rarely make anything happen.

The team more or less look like it was a step behind the Giants. The offesive live really got outplayed & that's the bottom line.
