I'll have to work out the logistics, but I think I can bring one of those torpedo looking heaters that pumps out like 20,000 BTUs.

I paid $129.00.
Thats great that we're gonna have all these heater it will actually be comfortable tailgating this winter.
Raub, I've seen those units your talking about. They are the best. Don't they need electricity for the fan in them? I've never actually used one, but have seen them.

Yeah, I have an inverter for the truck, just need to see how much power the heater draws and if my inverter can handle it.

Hey how long does that heater run for off of the propane tank? I have to run one in my van every night when it will freeze real low for like 8 hours a night. Would that be expensive?

It runs up to 110 hours on 1 20lb. cylinder. So it would run about 13 nights on 1 tank.

Funny you post this....I was just looking at heaters last night as well for our tailgate. The prices certainly seem reasonable.

Maybe I'm a wuss - but mounting a really hot heater right on top of a big propane tank makes me a little nervous. Anybody actually use these things before?

Hey GV, my dad has one of those he used for work. He never had any problems with it, and it put out a good amount of heat.

I actually use something very similiar to this. I use mine for heating my water for my carpet cleaning jobs. I have lines that go thorugh a portable heater that is attached to the propane and then it heats the water for steam cleaning. Lasts me about a month on a full tank.

Not to mention the side panels will keep us from losing the beer pong balls. I think we lost all but one in the dark at the Eagles game.

Note to self when dad arrives give KingGibbs a bottle of Suzy's hot sauce. You can not buy it in the states. My uncle buys it in Atigua and brings it to us.

Huly, I don't know if you saw my earlier post, but a friend of mine is flying in from St. Louis for the game. She's even going to buy a Redskins jersey to get into the spirit. I've told her about you and Pez's wings and she's excited to partake in it all.

My ears were ringing......
Spicing chili is a tricky task. You want to have some heat in the chili so that the people that like spice.....are not disappointed - but you don't want it overly spicy as to offend the wusses in the crowd. You can also make chili that is so spicy....people could only take a bite or two of it.....but that is not so good for feeding folks at a tailgate.
I generally use a mix of three hotsauces in my chili. Depending on the spice scale - I vary the quantity and ratios. These three hotsauces really taste different and bring a good flavor. I use Predator, Hot ***** @ the Beach and Scorned Woman.
If you are looking for some real hot hot sauce.....Predator is about the hottest that I eat....put on eggs...etc. The Scoville scale is used to measure heat. The Predator runs around 175,000 Scoville Units.
http://www.chilliworld.com/SP6.asp?p_id=116
I haven't tried, but own these two at 500,000 and 800,000 units respectively:
http://www.chilliworld.com/SP6.asp?p_id=81
http://www.hotsauceworld.com/purecap.html
The hottest that I'm aware of is 16 million scoville units:
http://www.hotsauce.com/detail.aspx?ID=638
I actually collect hotsauces and have them in a lighted display above all my kitchen cabinets. Right now my collection is around 100 different bottles....and when I get doubles - I eat them....it is great.
