View Full Version : Do we bring in T.O.? (merged)

With Patten and Thrash out and the Skins thin at the receiver position, and the possiblity that T.O. will be let go next week, do we bring in T.O. if he becomes available?

I could also see us picking up TO, as Andy Reid said he wil never play in an Eagles Uniform again. The arbitrator is a 25 yr season ticket holder with the Skins, and I think he will make the Eagles re-instate TO, or force them to cut him. Gibbs and Snyder would sign him to a contract, that would have stipulations about his salary, and playing time, tied to his conduct, on and off the field. Living in Eagles country, I believe TO would want to play for a team, that:
A. Plays the Eagles 2 times a year, to stick it to them, and
B. Has another great Receiver (Moss), that would leave him open. He would have
caught half of the balls thrown at Taylor Jacobs.
I've heard about TO non stop, and I'm tired of it, but you have to admit, he is the best Receiver out there.

If TO is available and we don't go after him, I will accuse management of not doing enough to win. WE HAVE TWO HEALTHY RECEIVERS and there is nothing in free agency. If we could get TO, we HAVE to make the move. It's that simple.

Remember Sean Taylor came with a lot of baggage, too. And look at him now. Maybe TO needs a Joe Gibbs type coach to become a "Team" player. Also, look what Parcells did with Keyshon - he used to be a hot dogger and hard too deal with when with the Eagles, but look at him now - You never know?????? Sorry not Eagles Tampa Bay - forgot

Sure whatever. It's not like we havea dynasty that he cen destroy. This team has sucked as long as I can remember anyway. Plus, I don't really buy that he is the reason the Eagles have fell off. Up until his last game there, when he had that 90 yd td on Champ Bailey, he seemed to help the Eagles more than he hurt them. It's obvious now that the Eagles just were'nt good. TO would definately help our team. Maybe he could be the one to yell at Gibb's the next time he sits on a lead.

That last part was a joke........or was it?

There's alot of speculation that TO might go to Dallas, which I would not like to see (im a Cowboys fan). On a serious note, do you really think that Philly, despite how much of a cancer TO has been, would let him go to a division opponent? I don't think that would happen. Right now, it's all speculation.

Man, I'm so sick of all this character this, team chemistry that, jazz. We need a playmaker that can help us win games. What's gonna happen is he's gonna go to the Cowboys and help them become the beast of the east and we're gonna be stuck near the bottom with "Gibbs type of guys".

look we can talk about gibbs type of guys but lets remember this is a team sport and unless your team mates have character and integrity their is no team just a group of individuals...... TO is a heck of an athlete for sure but, his lack of character can destroy a team.... just look at the eagles. for gods sake quit getting desperate and have faith in a man that wins at everything. gibbs knows what he is doing.

T.O. is going to become a rent-a-player. Should we rent him for the rest of the year?
Snyder could pay him on a week to week basis. Think about it, T.O. can not afford to screw up again. Especially with a legend like Gibbs. For the rest of this year, it could definitely work. No longer than that though. I could see T.O. coming in, thanking Snyder and Gibbs for the chance to play, and busting his tail to help us win. Then, after the season, he goes and tests free agency having had 8-9 positive weeks in Washington.
T.O needs us as much as we need him.

If it comes to that, I am sure Gibbs (and Snyder) will do what's best. Hey this is NFL. And it's just a game. I say let's bring him in for the rest of the season, IF they let him go. We have got NOTHING to loose at this time. However, the sticking point is: NOT whether we or any other team is willing to sign him, rather whether or not the Eagles will let him go. I guess we will know more on Tuesday. I think, some thing else fundamentaly out of sink in our team. Can't really pin point my fingure to it. Ofcourse "inconsistency" causing turnovers and all that pissing and frustrating results but that's a very general and vague term to me. I don't think we could win all the games, even if T.O came in for the rest of the season. So it wouldn't really help.

I see this as the same scenario as when Darryl Strawberry had a bad stint with the Dodgers and was going to the Yankees. A lot of people were asking Steinbrener (spelling), "why are you taking a chance on Strawberry"? His response was, "until he does wrong by me, I have no problem with him". I think that's how we should look at this situation with T.O.
