Broncos 8-2
Chiefs 6-4
49ers 2-8
Gints 7-3
Eagles 4-6
Bucs 7-3
Raiders 4-6

combined record 60 wins 40 losses

Two losses to the Broncos & Bucs on the road.. if we get one call in both games they are a win... against two very good defenses.

then we have the Giants and Raiders, two average at best defenses... and we score a combined 6 points on offense

The Chiefs we gave away the win with turnovers... a running theme in all our losses

This team is a Jekyll and Hyde... you never know week to week which team is going to play on Sunday. One week the offense is amazing, but the defense sucks, the next week the defense is clicking but the offense is stuck in neutral... only one game all season did both sides show up together,... against the lowly 49ers.

The defense has been even more puzzling, through 7 games they were the #1 pass defense, but were giving up huge plays against the run almost every week. Then we stop teams from running the past three weeks.... and now we can stop the long ball all of a sudden :hammer:

it's enough to drive a man to drink :chug:

Interesting stats. We still have a chance to win this division outright.

The problem with that is the Dallas vd Carolina game may mean nothing to Car so that hurts us.

NY seems to only have one more tough game and that is Seattle. The other games shouldn't be hard for them.

Being two games behind both of them is what might finish us.

Carolina is in dog fight with the bucs 7-3, and Falcons 6-4

The Giants stink on the road and have 4 road games

there will be a chance, but it will only be there if Washington steps up.

The key for us is finishing with the same record as the Falcons and either NY or Dallas. Atlanta has not looked good the last couple of games.

You are right we have to win

Until Sunday's game, I wasn't worried about stepping up (at least at home that is). Now I am-- very flat yesterday.

No excuses. This team needs to play better. A lot of it boils down to coaching. I believe in Gibbs and I believe he will turn this around. He is a born winner and winners do not know how to lose.

However, I am reluctant to believe in GW. Something about his arrogant cocky attitude dose not sit well with me. There is a difference between being confident and being cocky. Confident people listen to reason and will admit fault where fault is due. Cocky people listen to nobody and believe they can do no wrong because of who they are.

riggins44

I still believe something that is overlooked is the early bye. Had that come 3-4 weeks later to give the team a rest and chance to heal, we might have been better off.

Have to agree with disappointed how flat this team has been at times this year.

already written in stone according to redskins.com

take a look

2006

Home: Atlanta, Carolina, Jacksonville, Tennessee, NFC North Team

Away: New Orleans, Tampa Bay,Houston, Indianapolis, NFC West Team

plus we play the eagles(X2), the giants(X2), and the cowboys(X2)

add that up and throw in an NFC West Team ( Rams, Hawks, Cards, or 49ers) and a NFC North Team ( Bears, Vikings, Packers, or Lions) and you got yourself a schedule

Heres my prediction of what our 06-07 schedule will look like:

week 1- vs. Carolina
week 2- vs. Tennessee
week 3- @ Houston
week 4- vs. NYG
week 5- @ Indianapolis
week 6- @ San Francisco
week 7- vs. Philadelphia
bye week---------------
week 8- @ New Orleans
week 9- vs. Dallas
week 10- vs. Atlanta
week 11- @ NYG
week 12- @ Philadelphia
week 13- vs. Detroit
week 14- @ Dallas
week 15- vs. Jacksonville
week 16- @ Tampa Bay

People forget that we had a bye week during week 3. Then we had to travel to Denver then KC. Why don't we get credit for such a tough schedule. Everyone of our games has been emotional (except vs. NY). If we had a schedule like NY or Dallas, I can assure you, we would be right there with them. Yes we have the easiest schedule coming up. But look at what we have been through. An early bye week, some tough road games plus injuries along the way. I believe that this team is getting exhausted. I feel that Dallas and NY are both overrated. Their toughest games have all been at home. Sure Dallas played against SD in SD....and won by 4...without GATES. NY is totally overrated. The NFL even gave them an extra home game. The skins' have been in everyone of their games this year, except against NY. NY went on the road to SD and got blown away. Plus they lost to minnesota at home. Both dallas and NY are overrated and will make an early exit in the playoffs.

SkinFromNepal

We cannot help the Skinz... our schedule was brutal.. but that should not be the excuse as we were in almost all the games excepts for the Giants one...

We lost coz we did not have another receiver other than Santana
we lost coz we held the ball like we hold a fish.. it always slipped
we lost coz our coaches were adamant at times
we lost since our coach had too much faith on deffense and did not go for firstdowns when we were leading by a score
we lost coz Portis was for everything other then running his style
we lost coz we do not play the entire hour
WE LOST due to poor Officiating too

This game was a must win game.. and look what we did .. we f'ed it up in our home turf...

We can still be decent if win against St Louis, Arizona, Dallas, Eagles, Giants and all at a sudden it seems like we can do it.. but we need aggresive offense and desciplined deffense and a Receiver who can make first downs...

Yes we do play those teams you mentioned but there is absolutely NO WAY you can predict when we play those games. The NFL releases the schedules in the spring and has their own formula.

Also you have us playing Detriot and San Francisco...that means we would have to finish in the same place in our division as them...I hope we don't play SF next season since that would mean we finish last this year in the East. Nice try bud...just let it play out.

Excellent post, Bubba, thanks.

We have always had media naysayers. But this helps us fans re-group and see how we ARE a good team. We still have potential. I just hope they can build a positive momentum and not be brought down by these losses. After all, "a true champion is one who turns a setback into a comeback".

Wow, nice stats Bubba. I knew that we were playing some tough games, but when you see it right in front of you like that, it really drives home the point.

Honestly, I think anything can happen right now. The Skins can go on a run, and still make the playoffs, and maybe even win the division. It's all possible, but they have to step up.

I think the toughest opponent we have left on our schedule is the one coming into Fed Ex this Sunday, the Chargers. If we can pull out a win over them. I really believe that we can get something going. If your the Skins it's gut check time.
