Will the Hokies ever win the big one

I am starting to reach the conclusion that Va Tech will be one of those teams that is good enough to make some noise in the Conference and possibly for a National Championship race but not win the big one. This team has choked in the big games 0-2 in BCS Games (granted the were played undefeated teams in both games) and now losing the ACC Title.

I will give Coach Beamer his props, he help turn around a program that use to be the early season pre-conference play patsies for big time programs and last years ACC Title was special because no one expected them to win the Conference but being in a Conference with 2 Florida Schools will not make things easy for Hokie Nation.

I will always be a Hokie fan but tonight's game hurts. :cry:

Well we did beat WVU 34-17. I guess that is big :rollseyes:

But no, besides the win at Miami last year this coaching staff has proven time and again it can't win the big one

With the talent and depth this team had this year, not going 12-0 is unaccaptable

This was the best shot at a national championship since MV1

What is laughable is just 5 weeks ago I thought this team could knock off USC or Texas

Not with the offensive game plans they bring to big games

Sorry, but NC State, UVA, and WVU were NOT big games. We had two BIG games this year and we choked on a fat dick. Same with Auburn, same with FSU the last two times.

Basically, we saw the spear on the helmets and panicked like a bunch of chumps. I'm a hard core fan who has devoted all his love to Hokie football to a point where it consumes me so I'm allowed to say this ****. Anybody have a problem with it or claim I'm fairweather, **** you. Virginia Tech might win an ACC championship here and there (as long as somebody besides FSU wins the Atlantic) but sorry folks, we ain't contendin' for a National championship and IF by some miracle we get there, we're losing. Why? Because we CANNOT win big games. This was the team to do it with. THIS was the team to make some noise with. We choked. We took the second chance GT gave us by beating Miami and we flushed it down the toilet like a bunch of ****ing chumps. ****ing A. I'm so ****ing livid right now.

Let's get a coach in there who can call a good offensive game - the reason why we look like chumps is that the offensive playbook is about 45 plays and while they work against the likes of Duke, they are horrible against teams with any talent.

Completely agree, Stinespring sucks and must be fired. It'll never happen because Beamer is loyal to his staff, and Stinespring is a likeable guy but there is a time to cut ties and now is it. I mean, gawd, he got shown up by Jeff Bowden of all people.

Not that it's all on the coaching staff, mind you, the players were playing terribly. And I wouldn't go after Josh Morgan so hard, he was probably our best receiver in that game which goes to show you how flat out awful they played. What happened to Royal? Where the hell is Clowney, the fastest guy on the roster? Paging Josh Hyman! Harper should see the field more often. It would've been nice if the refs didn't let the FSU DBs throw our receivers to the ground and stomp them while the ball was in the air. And again Ore should've been playing.
