View Full Version : Texans Trying to Lose?

It seems that the Texans may be trying to lose games at this point. If the NFL can find any solid evidence to support this, is there anyway that the NFL could punish the Texans by, I don't know, taking away their first round pick? I think they deserve no pick if that's what they're doing.

That last field goal they missed was an obvious attempt at missing on purpose. Little asses, who would they draft? Bush or Leinart? Davis is a pretty good back they have.

With a field goal miss that bad, you literally have to try.

i dont like the lottery, but it would be nice this year...

the first fg attempt was blocked, but there was a penalty that made the kick that much easier and he still missed by a measley 30 yards left... lol

seriously though, is there any nfl rule that prevents trying to lose? i'm sure there is... kidna funny how sportscenter recently had this whole series on cheating in sports, and how guys who purposely lost games were kicked out of their respective sports and whatnot, so I say ban all the texans and contract them, and bring back arizona to our division!

I don't know if they are intentionally losing, but who can blame them for not trying very hard? This season is already down the tubes and Reggie Bush is one hell of a player.

No question.

That kick was complete madness.

They brought that up on ESPN Monday Quarterback. Wingo said that if they tried to lose they would probably screw that up too !!

my old high school could dog the texans. yes they are tryna loose. they thought vince was gon come out this year, that way we would have the hometown boy here but reggie's coming out so they figure why not get him instead. they have talent in jabar gaffney, andre and all those guys but that o'line sucks! poor david carr stay kissing the ground.

yes...

but its kinda weird... the texans problem is the Oline

domanick is pretty good.
i still believe david carr can do it but they need oline support and better coaching

there is leinart and bush.

the texans already have a rb and qb

49ers should try to lose too and try to gte the worst record...
bush would be better in san francisco, barlow sucks.

If I were the Texans, I would lose every game too... Tell your fans that you will play your guts out for the first 45 minutes and then just stop playing all together. If you're a Texans fan, if they are leading in the beginning of the 4th, chalk it up as a win, if they're not, put it down as a loss. I honestly don't see anything wrong with it.. You don't see the NFL punishing teams for trying to have the best record, why punish a team for trying to have the worst record?

Winning and losing doesnt matter to the coach at
this point...he is fired regardless...so I dont think they
meant to lose...Capers is not going to be around to
coach whoever they draft...

And Texans have Carr and Davis solidified at qb and rb...
they likely will trade down and get a bunch of picks anyway...

REDPepper

they wont trade down, i know they like davis, but he is considered very injury prone to most scouts, and they believe reggie bush is the next hall of fame RB, so they cant pass that up

If they pass on Reggie Bush for Domanick Davis they need to be shot.

I couldn't believe that kick. I did not see it on Sunday, but it was being discussed on the radio last night on my way home from work. So I saw it for the first time when Jimmy Kimmel did his halftime segment.

:)...a friggin 30 yd field goal that went 30 yards to the left of the goal post...nah, they're not trying to lose...:)

Kinda makes you wonder about the Rams/Fitzpatrick and their 30 point 4th quarter comeback now...they made Fitspatrick look like Joe Montana...while the Skins and Vikings made him look like Heath Shuler.

  that's not right. I was a season ticket holder last year, so yall know I tried to support the team. I figured I support the Rockets, I'll do the same with the Texans. But this year, I refused. I just plain ole refused. I went to the Pittsburgh game and I was just at a loss for words. I was sitting looking like  the entire game. And it was people who was actually cheering them on. There is no amount of cheering for them. They try to loose and they're going to do the same thing next year so that when Vince comes out, they can have him too. Mark my words. lol

it's been done before--most recently with the Cleveland Cavs and LeBron, and the NBA seemed happy with it...

But let's be honest; the Texans are NOT only one player away from competing, even if that player is Reggie Bush--They are an organization in complete chaos now

The question was asked about the lottery. I don't know how I feel about it. In this case if you had the worst record, you would love to draft Reggie Bush. If you don't want him, at least he is a consensus number one that someone will trade up to get.

However think of the 49ers last year where there was no clear cut number one. Let alone you need a quarterback and now you have to overvalue a pick that most likely will be a bust. It was obvious the running backs were the cream of the draft going in, and are playing that way now. Whose going to trade up to get a running back (except Bush) since you can get a servicable one anywhere. The niners needed a quarterback so now you're drafting on need instead of getting a player where he should fall.If you're the niners do you P.R. move it and take a quarterback or go with a running back which are a dime a dozen?

If Alex Smith was available the year before do you really think he would have gone before the 3rd round? The 49ers are probably screwed because they now they have to pay this guy a huge contract and most likely will never be better than Kyle Boller.

the cavs didn't throw the whole season; but once the season was lost, the team really mailed it in the last 20 or so games
