Good morning True Believers of the Burgundy and Gold.
I'm sure by now everyone has heard of the tragic loss of Indianapolis Colts Coach Tony Dungy's son who was found dead in his apartment today at a very young age of 18 years old. During this time of year when families are getting together and celebrating the season, let us remember those who have been lost or do not have a family member here to celebrate with.
Let's show the unlimited class that this board and it's members have by clicking on the link and sending a well-wish to Coach Dungy's family.
Thank you all and have a Merry Christmas.

Very sad news my thoughts are with his Family. I remember seeing James on the sidelines of a Colts game and I remember thinking: "How lucky that boy is milling around the sidelines joking with the players." Wow life sure is interesting isn't it?

Very much so. As football fans they're coaches that we can't stand but one of the things I love about ES is that we're realist for the most part and we give people their just due...Whether they're Skins fans or not. Not one person can say anything negative about Tony Dungy as a coach or a person.

If Joe wasn't our Coach he would be my second choice. He is a class act.

That Is A Very Unfortunate Loss For The Dungy Family. I Can Definetly Relate And My Prayers Go Out To Them.
After Watching My Beloved Redskins Blow Out The Cowboys With My Grandmother And Son On Sunday, My Grandmother Fell Ill The Very Next Day And Died Suddenly On Tuesday. She Was 69 Years Young And Is The One Who Started My Love For The Washington Redskins WHEN SHE BROUGHT Back A Redskin Banner From California After The Superbowl Xxii Vistory. She Witnessed My Pain Every Year Since 1992' As The Redskins Posted Losing Seasons. However On Sunday, She Was All Smiles While Wacthing Me Run Around The House After Every Big Play That The Skins Had . It Was An Unbelievable Game, And Suddenly I Became A Kid Again Chanting "hail To The Redskins" After Each Score. My 2 Yr Old Son Attemtped To Mimic The Lyrics And It Truly Was A Special Momment For Her To See My Son Resite Hail To The Redskins.
Thank You Redskins For Providing Such A Memorable Momment For Me In Memory Of My Loved One. May The Colts Do The Same For Tony Dungy And His Family By Dedicating Their Game To Him.

Redskins55. I am very sorry for your loss (it's always tough any time of the year but especially during the holiday season). May your heart and soul mend quickly and God keep you close to his heart.

There is never a good time, but this time of year for something like this is
even worse. I lost a grandmother 5 days before Christmas years ago. That
was on rough Christmas season.

I left a message, this is just terrible news, and I can only hope that many people send messages and show support for the Dungy family

I know I will probably catch a lot of heat from some of you when you read this. But please, if and before you do give me some heat on this one, hear me out and think about it.
I feel bad for the Dungy family just as I would for any family. But here is what I don't understand. Why is it that every time someone in the spotlight has a tragedy in the family fans are so quick to send cards, balloons, flowers, etc..? But how many of those same people do the same for some random death you read about in the paper or hear about on the news? How many of you that are sending a message to the Dungy family sent a message to the Russell family, Holloway family, or Jessica Lunsford's family.
So if you have never done that for someone you never heard of before, why would you do it for the Dungy family seeing that you don’t even know them?
I’m not being cold hearted, because I do feel bad for the Dungy family. I am just being honest in the fact that if I have never done this for some unfortunate death I read about in the paper of some guy nobody has ever heard of before, why would I do this for the Dungy family.

My heart goes out to the Dungy family. He is one very excellent coach. I felt bad when I first heard the news. It makes me wonder sometimes, why do bad things like this happen to such good people like Tony Dungy. RIP James.

Hey I appreciate the sentiments and kind words my friend. A great pick me up would be the redskins beating the giants this week!

Just because someone may not send a note to another "random family" during their time of sorrow doesnt mean they arnt thinking about them during the difficult time. Lets just be honest here, the only reason this post is on this board is because it is football related. And we all as "football fans" can sympathize with a man who has such a stressful job, maintains his compassionate spirit, and has to deal with the loss of his 18yr old son. If it were Joe Gibb's I would expect the same from the world and the football community. We know how close Gibbs is to his son.
So frankly I believe you shouldnt care if someone writes sentimental notes to other families all the time. If this was their first time sending an heartfelt note for someone whom they didint know then God bless them, because they didnt have to write one at all.

:logo: First and foremost, my prayers go out to Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy and the rest of his family. They are going through a tough time right now; my heart just really feels for them in mourning the loss of their son, James Dungy. It is unfortunate stuff like this happens within a family; from Tony's perspective, it is a tough one to swallow, especially in losing somebody like his son. Honestly, from the bottom of my heart, I pray to God that Tony, his wife, Lauren, and the rest of his family will find a way to perservere through this tragic loss.

Russell played pro-football. Did you send his family a sympathy card..?
