It's going to take more than one season to get him past Henry Ellard. Henry had a similar season in 1994 (and thats with John Friesz and two rookies throwing to him and zero running game and zero threat on the other side).

So, Santana Moss is the best wide receiver we've had since Henry Ellard.

Another year similar to this year and he'll overtake Ellard IMHO

With all due respect to Gary Clark, as he was a clutch receiver ; Moss may be better....he's both a clutch receiver, and a great long ball threat. He may be the best since Art Monk

I'd like to say Gary Clark, but the 1986 NFC Championship game when Gary dropped two perfect Schroeder passes STILL believe it or not burns me. Therefore, I would have to go with Sir Arthur Monk.

Charlie Taylor and Roy Jefferson.
And of course, Art Monk!

I would say Monk but Moss has a ways to go to reac h that level. I'd say he's the best deep threat we've had since Gary Clark or Downtown Charlie Brown. :2cents:

I didn't want to quote several posts on the subject, but whoever said "since DG retired" is not understanding that DG was a defensive back.

Since he just broke his record, I would have to go with Bobby Mitchell.

Mitchell set his record in a 12 game season in an era when teams didn't throw as much as in the modern game.

Remarkable.

I really like santana, he's got great hands quickness, acceleration and blazing speed.and has a knack for not taking the big hit.but, this is one year.while i see no reason at all that he won't continue his pilfering of defenses next year, it remains to be seen.but to me not since the posse of art, gary and ricky have we had threat like this.shame on the league if we can get a no.2 reciver to compliment him.patton maybe the second of which i speak,he's definetly better than the others we have.
