Arrived in south Jersey this morning and was listening to WIP on the way up. The hosts (Ray Didinger and Glen Macnow) were referring to the Eagles season as "6-10." Predicted the Skins would keep it on the ground a lot, and would win easily (score predictions were 28-10 and 27-13). Both thought Gibbs has done a great job of adjusting his philosophy from last year, and also commented that the Skins are not hated nearly as much in Philly as the Cowboys and Giants.
Time to settle in, watch the game tonight (hope that Oakland pulls it off!) and then out to the Linc tomorrow!!

 Nice thread, I live in the Philly area but I haven't heard any positive outlooks on our team, so that's nice to hear.
I think they are right, Gibbs is the man, we are gonna run the ball down their throat and this is gonna be a pushover victory for us.

It'll be a cakewalk as long as our players don't think it'll be a cakewalk, if you know what I mean...

It's fine we we think it's going to be a pushover.
As long as our players don't go in thinking it's going to be a pushover.

Living around Philly, it seems that most Eagle fans hold alot more respect for Gibbs than Parcells, by a long shot. Gibbs' success with the Skins in his first tenure is respected. That's why I think there is less hate when the Eagles are dumping and the Skins are succeeding.

I'm confident but nervous. I mean I'm extremely confident in our team but with so much on the line it's hard to be cocky. The Eagles have nothing to play for but pride and that's dangerous thing.
Bring your A game boys and lets pluck those Eagles!

Yeah there's no such thing as a cakewalk in the NFC east where one team is playing for the post season and the other team literally has NOTHING to lose.. I expect this game to be very close and come right down to the last play -- it will be heart attack football IMO

You said the same thing prior to the cowgirls game and the midgets game. I expect nothing but a commanding win. We are better than the iggles and we should show it to them tomorrow. Besides we need to go into the playoffs with a bang annocing our presence in the process so that the likes of Seahawks and the Bears can take notice.

Let's face it, our guys have been in pressure-cooker situations for the past month. We've been in must-win situations for four straight weeks now. We should be used to this by now and I expect our guys to use it to their advantage. The only thing I fear is if we let the Eagles stick around in a close ball game, because in that case all it takes is one crazy bounce or a little string of luck and the playoffs can pass you by in a hearbeat.
We need to be ready from the get-go and cannot just go through the motions for the first quarter. Our guys have to go for the kill right off the bat and demoralize the Eagles spirits, which will surely be high at the start of the game.
All I can say is let's get this thing on. We've been waiting six years for another shot at the playoffs and that 14-13 loss to the Bucs in 1999 still stings. I need to get that taste out of my mouth.
Hail victory in Philly!

You say that as if I was the only one expecting those two to be close games...

Id like to hear WB36, #5 or Tom [Giant fan]'s take on this, but in my op.
There is much more of a deeper Eagles vs Giants rivalry and Skins vs Cowboys rivalry than anything else........
Even when the Giants and the Skins were really scary teams in the 80's-early 90's.
What do you think?

Exactly, If they do not come in to this game over confident and just handle their business they could win this game easily but if they come in here thinking they are better than they are they might be trouble.

WIP is 610 AM, but it's crap. Seriously. I only listen now when I drive through a few times a year, but I can't take more than 10 min without wanting to crash my car. I just wait for the WFAN 660 signal to start coming through.
I think there is another sports talk on 950, but I haven't heard it.

My cousins (Eagles fans in Delaware) told me this week they actually hope they lose to us because they hate the Cowboys so much more than the 'Skins that they hope the 'Skins make the playoffs over the 'Boys.

I agree, straight to their throats. I had a coach tell me in High School, when you have a player down don't just beat, stomp the crap out of them. He said once you demoralize an opponent they'll never want to face you again. These guys are proffesionals, if we don't get on them fast anything can happen.
Any give Sunday. Fortunately for us Sunday, January 1st won't be just "any" Sunday for us skins fans. It'll will be our long awaited return to the promise land. Hail to the Redskins baby!

Well my friend that I am taking to the game is a die hard Eagles fan but is rooting for us with me so that we keep the Cowboys out of the playoffs.
