What exactly did Papa Manning have against the San Diego Charger organization?
It was unbelievable how he trashed the Chargers by saying he didn't want his son to play for them, stating that he had sources that told him it was not the right place to be.
Sure the Chargers were losing at the time all this was going on but every organizaton goes through that, we as Redskin fans definately know that.
From what i've seen and heard lately the Chargers are a very good organization.
They seem to be drafting very well, LT and this rookie LB they have Sean Merriam?? (sorry can't remember his last name exactly). Not to mention Drew Brees turned out to be a very good 2nd Rd pick.
But what I heard today from Phil Simms during the Charger Bronco game that really impressed me was a bonus situation with one of their recievers, Caldwell I believe.
He had to get 50 catches to get a half million $ bonus and the Chargers have basically game planned to get him the ball so he could get the money.
That is all class in my opinion, alot of organizations go out of their way to keep players from getting those bonuses, especially if its the last game of the season and means nothing towards the playoffs.
I can only hope that the Chargers got lucky is the deal, maybe Eli will turn out to be a bust and th Chargers get alot for Rivers or maybe even keep him and move on to have many successful seasons.
