Cowboys assistants to interview for other team jobs
Associated Press
DALLAS - Two Dallas Cowboys assistants could end up as the top coaches of other teams, bringing more uncertainty to a team that's waiting to see if Bill Parcells will return.
Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer plans to interview for the head coaching job with the St. Louis Rams. And the Green Bay Packers plan to talk about their head coaching job with Cowboys assistant head coach Sean Payton, DallasCowboys.com reported Tuesday night.
Both positions came open Monday, when the Rams fired Mike Martz and the Packers let Mike Sherman go.
"I had a couple of teams call and ask to interview each coordinator for head coaching jobs," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. "This is to be expected."
