View Full Version : What would you do if we became the worst NFL team in history to win the Superbowl?

Getting ahead of myself, but just thought I'd ask. Personally, I'd buy a pair of blindfolds because there are some rather ugly people I'd rather not see walking towards Washington.

How can you be the worst team if you win the superbowl?
Burgold
January-10th-2006, 03:48 PM
Sean Salisbury, that eagles fan, etc. who have pledged to hike to DC if the Redskins win or even get to the Superbowl.
Just referencing the article that named us the worst 3-0 team in NFL history.

I would rejoice because it doesn't matter how you do it. There are many a franchise out there that will probably never get a Lombardi. I would run through the streets yelling and screaming and chanting and crying and laughing. It would be awesome.

No bad team can win a SuperBowl, I just don't see Houston in the Playoff race.

I'll celebrate no matter what. A Super Bowl is a Super Bowl is a Super Bowl.
This team is better than the Ravens SB team.

You guys take it too much to heart what the media says. All that it should do is make what the Redskins have done that much sweeter. These so called "experts" don't know more than you and I. They guess just like we do. Well, almost because some of what fans do is with their hearts. But the media doesn't know much more than anyone else. I don't even think they should be called experts.

Tom,
I agree. I'm just having a bit of fun with the "worst" stuff. This season has been a great roller coaster. I'm enjoying the fact that we are still competing. It's fun to hoot and holler and tweak those who badmouthed the team you support.

I think it would be great! Also, I have read a whole lot of threads whereby there would be several people walking naked to and from Philly to D.C.

I'd party like it's 1999 again. Do you think I cared in '83 that
it was a strike year and half the season was wiped out? Hell, no!
If against all odds we were to go to Detroit and win, I
wouldn't care what the rest of the country thought---WE HAVE THE
[EXPLETIVE] TROPHY!!!!
Eddie Cunningham
P.S. You do know that the 1988 San Francisco 49ers won their
third Super Bowl with the identical record we have this year,
don't you?

I'm with you. This team reminds me of the 1987 (Super Bowl XXII champions). We went into thse playoffs with no clear quarterback, two running backs who shared time, two young unproven WR's in Gary Clark and Ricky Sanders and an aging defense. Gibbs decided to go with Doug Williams (the backup at the beginning of the season) and the night before the SB he told a rookie who hadn't started an NFL game that he would start. The rest is history. Who cares now that that team had so many question marks?
Go Skins!

SkinsFan47
January-10th-2006, 04:58 PM
we'd be the worst to team win in the fact that ever since the wild card teams were added to the playoffs in 1990, NO 5 or 6 seed has ever won the superbowl, us, being a 6 seed, would be one of the worst teams [by record going into the playoffs that year] to win the superbowl
but forget that, we just won the superbowl, id be laughing my ass off in my eagles fan roomates face uncontrolablly for day, heck, maybe weeks!

It's been nearly 20 years since that Super Bowl, and I still don't believe what happened in that quarter and I've got it on DVD!

I would extend my vacation frm Detroit to Cabo for an extended week long vacation/celebration. Then when I got back to DC I would give a redskins SB shirt to my boss, who is a DAllas fan. I hate my boss and that's why.

If the Redskins win the superbowl the media will be saying two things.
1. The Redskins are the worst team in NFL history to win the Super Bowl.
2. The Chargers are the best team is NFL history to miss the playoffs.
My question is "Which would you rather be?"
