No way that is true...1st and 2nd rounders for Matt Schaub?? I hate the bastard, but now way is Jerrah that stupid.

matt schuab would be a great fit in dallas. he has good mobility and he is a very smart qb.. but i think giving up a 1st and 2nd round draft pick is a little too much to give up.. it will probably take him a year to learn the system..

Shaub is great. Dammit. :(

He is barely a 50% passer. He has shown nothing to indicate he is worth a first AND second rounder. Maybe a 2nd...he wasn't even a first round pick!! (IIRC).

If it is true (hopefully), that means the price for Ramsey will go up dramatically, and we may even be able to get a first for him. :)

Shuab is the second most important player for Atlanta. Don't like the sound of this trade one bit.

That's alot to give up for a backup QB. He has looked good though when he has played. I'd rather they had Bledsoe in there, for sure.

That's alot to give up for a backup QB, even though Shaub has impressed me in the minimal times I've seen him play.

I don't buy it though, I didn't think Parcells was ready to call an end to the Bledsoe experience yet.
Plus, isn't Shaub too young? I thought you had to be in your mid/late 30's to qualify as a Dallas QB nowadays.......I'd buy Dallas trying to get Brunell for those picks than a youngster like Shaub.

Yes, Dallas fans, I was kidding.......

i think trades can happen they just cant be made final until march. didnt we trade for brunell and portis before the trading period.

A 1st and 2nd might be too much but I don't want the Cowboys getting a franchise QB. I love them toiling with Bledsoe for a few years then handing it over to Henson.

Only time will tell...Shaub has looked good backing up Vick but still has proved nothing in the league, do you think this will mean the departure of Bledsoe?

I just went to both the Falcons and Cowboys board and no threads on this. You'd think if it was on the NFL network, fans from these teams would have seen it and have talked about it......

we wouldn't allow Brunell in Snyder's Superbowl party for fear of tampering.

maybe back door talks, but can't be made public, definitely not next Friday

You'll have a weaker armed Drew Bledsoe

Probably bogus, but I hope this rumor is true for 2 reasons. First, I don't think that Schaub is as good as a lot of people think. Second, if Dallas is willing to give up that much for Schaub, the value for Ramsey might be higher than many think.

To me this sounds silly. The major issue for them seemed to be pass protection rather then at QB. If I was Jerry I'd address their offensive line and running game first.

I don't think he would be, and I don't believe the pukes would give up that much for Shaub. My point was that if this rumor is even close to being true, then Ramsey would be worth more then most think.

the cowboys first and second is worth the equivalent of the 10th overall pick which many think that cutler might go. that being the case id rather have shcaub over cutler at this point anyday.

That would be a UBGAY QB, if VMI can have women, why can't UVA have men?

SkinsTillIDie
January-29th-2006, 05:09 PM
With slightly more than their first and second rounder, they could move up and take one of the highly touted rookie qb's... Perhaps even Jay Cutler.

I believe Atlanta said a year ago that they wouldn't accept anything less than a first rounder... I'd be surprised if he's worth a 1st and a 2nd.

Oh, there you go! The Hokie in you speaks out, without thinking. That type of comment is about as well thought out as a Michael Vick audible.

Not only is your idea incomplete, it was just picked off and taken back for a TD.

If Schaub were at QB in Atlanta, they would have made the playoffs. Instead they are starting one of the most stupid (but most athletic) QBs in the league.

Schaub iss pretty damn good. i've like him since his days at uva. He's got prototype size and is a pure pocket passer with a great arm.

Plus, that would open up the doors for atl to draft marcus vick in the late rounds to back up his big bro...

Gotta call BS on this. No way is Schaub worth 1st AND 2nd rounders. Heck he isn't even worth a 1st rounder. Wasn't he a 3rd round pick to begin with? If Atlanta got a 2nd for him it would be a major coup, and would prove that Ramsey is worth at least a 2nd as well...

And whoever said Schaub is mobile knows nothing of Schaub and his career at UVA. The guy's a pocket passer with as much mobility as Ramsey. He might be pocket aware, but to say he's mobile is just flat out wrong...

January-29th-2006, 05:56 PM
CRAP he's pretty damn good from what ive seen. But i dont feel that bad about it if they are giving up that much of him. i wish the guy a great career...if he doesnt go to dallas, if he does, eh to hell with him cuz thats where hes headed anyway

i am kinda worried though, he was ACC player of the year and has looked pretty good filling in for vick

so much hype for this UVA fool, feel free to waste all your first day picks (if true) on him Dallas

So if true(And there is NO DAMN LINK so thus, till I see one, I ain't a-gonna buy it!!!!), then this is the end of the Drew Henson era in Big D

And a 1st AND a 2nd for him?

Me too. Which was kinda my point. Everyone around here seems to overvalue a guy like Schaub for whatever reason. But when it comes to Ramsey they undervalue him for whatever reason.

Schaub started one game this year and lost. Has a career completion % under 50. Played the majority of two Atlanta games last year and both were losses...So he's 0-2 as a starter and completed < 50% of his passes.

Meanwhile Ramsey completes 55% of his passes, including a 60%+ clip last year, and has PROVEN to be a capable NFL starter with the potential for so much more.

And the talk is getting a 3rd rounder for Ramsey is somehow gonna be difficult, but giving up a 1st and 2nd for Schaub and only a few people flinch? Sounds like something wrong with that...

dockeryfan
January-29th-2006, 06:36 PM
I think Schaub is pretty good, but nowhere near that expensive.
It might be because I've seen more of Ramsey than fans of other teams, but I think Ramsey has more experience and more potential to succeed.

If I'm not mistaken, Musgrave was OC at Va when Schaub was there - I don't know if he'd have a say in this though.

This is just a rumor however Matt Shaub to the Cowboys would be BAD news for us Skins fans. I can see maybe a first round pick but not a first and second round pick. Shaub is the best QB on Atlanta's roster and the Falcons are not going to let him go. They need him for the many injuries that Michael Vick gets. Matt Shaub would improve the Cowboys immediately.

erivera
January-30th-2006, 08:08 AM
I wouldn't even trade a first and second round pick for Michael Vick! What NFL Network show were you watching?!!!
