Lucky seagulls, Play a cupcake schedule again.
2006 SCHEDULE
Assigned to a division that looks devoid of another team ready to make a championship run any time in the near future, Seattle should again be the class of the NFC West in 2006. It also doesn't hurt that the Seahawks' schedule is tied for just 29th toughest in the league, with an opponents' winning percentage of .457 (117-139).
For starters, six games against the likes of San Francisco, Arizona and St. Louis can help make anybody look like a playoff contender. The Seahawks also draw games against the NFC North next season (home against Minnesota and Green Bay, on the road at Detroit and Chicago), which wasn't exactly a bastion of powerhouses in 2005.
Seattle's AFC interconference portion of its schedule is more daunting. The Seahawks are back playing their old AFC West rivals, traveling to Denver and Kansas City, and playing host to Oakland and San Diego. Games against NFC playoff teams Tampa Bay and the Giants also loom.
The Seahawks play just four games against 2005 playoff qualifiers, and seven against teams that were .500 or better this season.

The Seattle Seahawks will continue to have a cupcake schedule until the rest of the NFC West steps up. C'mon, they play 6 games against Arizona, San Francisco, and St. Louis.... Even though each of those teams has "potential", until they step up and actually do something with the talent they have, they will continue to be Seattle's little Beeyotches

Dude, they play in the NFC West. So long as the teams in that division are crap, they'll have a good strength of schedule. Just like the Eagles in the NFC East.

I think Arizona could be a sleeper for 07 personally.

That is exactly why I said that if the Seahawks lost the superbowl it would be easier for them to get back in to the playoff mix where I think Pittsburgh if they have lost the superbowl would have an harder time because you look at their division Cincy is going to be even better next season, Baltimore is always tough, Cleveland will be getting better. The fact Seahawks play in a weak division you count both games as win they have it in the bag.

God I wish we could have a schedule like that. Why can't the Redskins move to the NFC west?

My not so bold prediction for 2006...
The SEAHAWKS will MISS the playoffs...
I see the Rams or Cardinals winning that division next year...

Exactly. And what were, in hindsight, some of our toughest oppenents this season?
Chicago, Seattle, New York, Dallas, Tampa Bay.
Some of our easiest?
St. Louis, Philadelphia.
Wouldn't have thought that coming into this season.

Exactly. This is the "Sally Jenkins" way of determing SOS. We have no idea who's going to be good.

I have the same feeling.
Their defense did play the Redskins really tough, don't know if it was Brunell or their defense's closing speed.
Give Kurt Warner a decent offensive line and a power running game and they will be a real threat.
Then again it's the Cardinals.

That is what they say every year about Arizona, face it, they stink and no small part of that is they have no home field advantage. Players see it as just a stop on thier career.

You just listed Seattles 4 losses next year. Seattle is an average team with an easy schedule. They will continue to dominate in the regular season with players getting great numbers, only to fail in the playoffs. Next year they will not be the top seed so I see real problems with no home field advantage.
