I am all about trying to keep Lavar this offseason but it seems like we are going to have to trade or release him. Would it not be intriguing to try to trade disgruntled LB's for each other, case in point...Ray Lewis...just a thought.

I don't know if I would say I hate these threads but they are annoying just cause there are so many.

that trade would be pretty cool, but i think it's a little unrealistic. But if it were to happen we'd get the better end of the deal. I hate most of these threads because most will never ever in the history of the universe happen. But some of them are alright:helmet:

you talk about a lavar-lewis trade like it would benefit us in any way. ray lewis is aging, and has already peaked. lavar has probably not reached the pinnacle of his career, and probably won't for another couple of years. i like ray lewis, he's a great player, but i wouldnt want him here. his attitude toward life in general would be disruptive. he thinks HE is the team, kinda like a mild form of T.O.Itis. Joe Gibbs himself said he likes guys with character, guys who would embrace each other as team mates. ray lewis will never fit that criteria.

Considering what we could get for lavar (mid-late round pick) I think Lewis would be a nice player to recieve. I know this would never happen but I just think its an interesting thing to think about...

point noted. all in all i would still rather have lavar than anything they could give us.

Let's be hypothetical and say 1. Lavar is retained, or 2. Lavar is released. I'm certain we'll be seeing threads on "Why we should have kept him", or "Why we should have let him go. Personally I would like to see him stay and become the absolute monster (physically and knowing all the plays) that he certainly could be. My guess is until everything is right with the Skins this topic will not die.

i have the same answer everytime a thread like this pops up. i think that they will restructure his contract. if he doesnt want off the team wich he said "i want to be here next year", why not do it? he wont be here for his 5 year contract (or whatever) that hes on so id have my agent and gibbs work out a contract thats like 2 or 3 years or so or if he wants off or the coaches dont want him, 1 year. cause he will be here one more year cause if they try to trade him the cap hit will be humoungourous!

The Ravens have already said they WILL NOT trade Ray Lewis.

Explain Brunell
Yes. The very same Brunell who just had better stats in nearly every measurable category than Pro Bowl QB Ron Mexico [ for those who are unaware, Michael Vick ]. The very same Ron Mexico who was recently paid the GDP of a European country to stay in Atlanta for 10 years.
Oh yes. What an overaged bum. Maybe we should trade him for Koy Detmer.
Now THAT's a trade thread I'd look at in a heartbeat.

why is everyone trying to get rid of lavar, he is a dynamic player, who actually wants to be a redskin. he will restructure his contract and he will be in the pro bowl next year. i watched him play in Penn State, and was ecstatic when we drafted him. he will retire from the skins. :dallasuck

Why exactly do we need to cut or trade Lavar when it would be cheaper to keep him?

I'm not exactly fond of these kind of threads either.

Ray Lewis is a MLB and Lavar is a ROLB. I know Marshall came from the outside but he did a fine job in the middle and has a lot more years left than Lewis. Plus, you guys seem to be forgetting that Lewis wants to be traded because he doesnt think Baltimore will reneg. his contract, which means he wants big money because his existing contract, with three years left, is already sizeable. Never going to happen, dont even want it to happen!
