View Full Version : If we trade Ramsey, would we consider Jeff Garcia?

I think Gibbs would like another vet in the mix, whether he be #2 or #3. Garcia reminds me somewhat of Brunell with his pseudo-mobility and playmaking. How cheap would he be? I wouldn't mind if we picked him up.

Tim Hasselbeck is another option.

He's mobile but would underthrow poor Santana so much it would be frustrating.

Cargcia? No way! He would want to start, not to be #3. Plus I think his time has passed, not like Brunnell who still has one championship in him :) Hopefully this coming year.

we signed the bengals 3rd string guy. that would give us 3 QB's

Ummmm, No. I think Garcia would "freestyle" a little too much for me. Hey, I know. What if we get him and TO, so that they can have a reunion. Wouldn't that be great! :silly:

Garcia is over the hill. Plus, he does his best work outside the pocket on the move when things have broken down. Considering Saunders and Gibbs' histories, I believe we'll be looking at a pocket passer if we need another backup.

I think picking up another vet QB would show lack of faith in Campbell. I think we pick up another "project" kid for real cheap and let one of our stable of coaches groom him. Another old vet would be pricey and just a bad chioce IMHO.

He's more suited to be a WCO and he's a bit long in the tooth anyhow.

Garcia turns 36 this month.
I don't think it's a terrible idea, if we trade Ramsey. Who would we find that's better? Two veterans for Campbell to learn under wouldn't be a bad thing. Plus, I think Garcia would buy into what we are doing and, if Brunell were to get injured, he could provide great experience. You can't judge him by his time in Detroit, that team was terrible this year.

Why? We're developing Campbell who should start at the latest after next season, and Garcia is washed up. As for Tim, you forget we just gave him away last year?

it's not likely. Garcia thinks he should be a starter, he isn't going to take a #3 seat, besides the lions are having a fit with their QB problems and are going to need him.

Have you seen Garcia play recently? Why would we want to trade for him? He is average when he is at his best. He is too short, gets balls batted down all the time, and is on his way out.

In 1998 Jeff Garcia was arrested for indecent exposure at a gay bar. As big as a Christian as Coach Gibbs is, he is definately not a Joe Gibbs type player. Please dont put this guy in a Redskins uniform.

Jeff Garcia??? I'd rather keep Ramsey, are you out of your mind? It's not like we are losing Brunell or something, we don't need GARCIA of all people.

I had to watch him play nearly every week when he was with Cleveland. He is terrible and not a character guy in the locker room. As soon as Cleveland went south he started blaming the coaches (not that Butch Davis wasn't a dufus).

The Redskins can find anyone better than him.

Having watched both players extensively I would say Tim Couch was a better option and he has been out of football two years.

I am in no way suggesting that Tim Couch be a Skin just making a point.

If we trade Ramsey, should we pick up.......
Trent Dilfer? NO!
Jeff Garcia? NO!
John Kitna NO, but would be a nice back up.
Chad Pennington NO!
Duante Culpepper NO!
Jeff Blake NO!, but proably an option

Brandon Lloyd NO, b/c we wont be able to afford him
T.O. NO! and shut your mouth b/c he isnt coming here! NO!
Eric Moulds Probably not,
Koren Robinson NO!
A. Randel El NO! and stop talking about it already!
Jimmy Smith NO!
D. Givens NO!
K. Mckardell NO!

John Abraham NO!
Ty Law NO!
Nate Clements NO
Van Den Bosch (s/p) NO!
Someone in my office said Larry Allen HECK NO!

Come on people, I know Im missing some other ones, help me out. Im not saying some of these people wouldnt be nice to have, but we wont be getting any of them with Ramsey as trade bait. I understand all the hypotheticals becasue its the offseason, but really stop playing "fantasy draft" on Madden, and then throwing any old thought that runs through your head when you're high on the message board as a new thread. Its getting crazy! :soapbox:
Ramsey = 3rd round pick, maybe lower.

I saw we bring tim hasselbeck back if Ramsey leaves, we don't need another veteran we just need an insurance policy, JC will be our #2 and Hasselbeck with be the #3, he can give us some inside info on the NY offense too, as I'm sure he did for NY when he went up there
