I think you should just be honest with her and see if she feels the same way about you...
Oh whoops, wrong thread.

I wonder what the women on here think of other wome in their very late 30's and early 40's having kids through artificial insemination without fathers..
seems to be the worst possible plan- at least if they marry someone they don't like and get divorced they would get child support payments..

If I were that dude whose file she pulled up standing right next to her, I'd be trying to do some sort of "direct deposit" if you know what I mean. Also, I wonder if he gets any royalities of the sale of his sprem?

Because maybe some people view marriage as something more than a means to get child support?

link works for me...
I mean that from the WOMENS perspective it makes more sense- obviously THEY are the ones who don't believe in marriage since they are deliberately going to donors rather than getting married..

If you read what I said, you will not see anywhere that I said they don't believe in marriage. I said, maybe they "view marriage as something more than a means to get child support?" Furthermore, the first paragraph of the article stated that one woman has been searching for someone to marry for the last 10 years. So she obviously does believe in marriage.

that's like saying I believe in taking an oath of poverty but have been working for a Fortune 50 company for the last decade. Actions speak louder than words.
I mean I believe in marriage as well, but am single because I don't want to make a mistake. But if I REALLY valued marriage more than anything else I would settle and have the marriage..

Why would anyone value marriage more than the person? I just don't get this. Isn't marriage about the person and not the institution? Cane, I think this attitude is what leads to the high divorce rate and the even higher "miserable but married" rate. "Settle" and "marriage" should never be used in the same sentence.
I'm just saying.

I have joked about doing it since I want children. Especially after a break up or out of frustration.
Will I do it? Maybe...Anything is possible.
However, I strongly believe in marriage and therefore have hopes that one day I will be able to have a family-the good old fashion way.

I actually went through the whole process of 'donation' but got rejected because both my grandparents and my mom had/have Type II Diabetes.

As far as I know there is no history of disease in my family, and I could always use a few extra bucks. . . I'll have to wait until I get my master from Harvard though, then my swimmers will gather primo bucks ;)
