Why do so many of you think we will trade up for LenDale White. the guys good but not that good, and we allready have CP and Rock and a few other RB's , why do we need another, if we trade up and a big IF i think we will pick a OLB, or O-line/D-line not another RB.

His combine was suspect-- He was too weak and could not run. he looked fat enough for a scout to ask about getting him a bra

he barely benched more than the punter. he wont run the 40 because he knows he cant break like 8 seconds

I don't know about white. His non performance at the tryouts will not help his draft stock. But overall I think he will be a good pick I just don't think we need him.

Love to have him... Dont really need him. He would be just a luxury that we dont have the assets to obtain.

This is the first I have heard about us being interested in White. That being said he is large enough to become an H-back (I don't know if he can block). Then we would move Cooley to TE which recieves much more passes in Saunders' offense than Gibbs'.

It would also give us a power runner.

That being said, I think it is a stupid idea.

just stop talking about him and his workouts. he will not be a redskin, i promise you

He is a good running back but we dont need him. We currently have CP, Ladell Betts, Rock Cartwright, Nemo, and Curry Burns. I think that is enough in teh RB department.

the man has talent but my goodness you have to wonder about his mental makeup when the simplest of prep draft items are not completed - sounds like he needs to grow up more than anything else

no chance for him in wash, for an assortment of reasons

he will be the first guy to go in the first round in ten years (injury cases like heath evans aside) not to have done a 40 time (and no prior one on record, anywhere, to boot) - will be interesting to see how far he slides (and he will slide) - likely not out of the first round, partic w indy sitting at the bottom

PLease... I find it highyl suspect that any sane rational person would talk about traiding up to get White. If anyone did well... they should have posting priveledges revoked. Heck they should have internet access revoked for life.

Drafting up in the draft to draft a very suspect player at probobly the teams strongest position? Makes sense.

Even if there was ANY remote chance in hell that we'd trade up for a running back in the draft this year, I wouldn't want us to get White.

He looked great while playing this year, but his poor showings at the Pro Day and as of late really make me wonder how dedicated he is to football. I mean, take a look at Reggie Bush. That guy has been working nonstop to get bigger, stronger, and faster, and he looks really impressive now.

But in any case, no, we aren't going to trade up for a running back. We're perfectly fine with CP, Betts, and Rock.

because people are either stupid or just very bored in this never ending offseason

Trading up for White would be stupid. You mention Rock and not Ladell as backups... yeah you know what you are talking about.

People think it would be good to have a power running back to complement CP. We have a Power Running back. We actually have 2 power running backs, they have the greatest nick names in the NFL. One has a nick name of ROCK and the other has a nickname of NEMO. As you all can tell I am a big NEMO fan and our backfield is crowded as it is. 5 Running backs is not going to happen.

Anyone that knows anything about football would never suggest that the redskins would trade up for White. He is the second coming of ron dayne. 245 and can only bench 225 15 times.

First of all, I haven't heard anything about the us getting LenDale White. LenDale is going to have a great career in the NFL. Every running back does not have to run a 4.4. LenDale has great gameday speed.

chiplohmillers#1
April-6th-2006, 08:08 AM
you are right not every back has to have 4.4 speed but this guy hasnt run the 40 yet. NFL holes are alot harder to come by then shoddy Pac 10 defences. LenDale's out look is about on par with the other "Big Backs" that have found success in the NFL. Anthony Thomas, Ron Dayne, Curtis Ennis.

wow, this is exactly like the discussion we had on this topic YESTERDAY. it was pointless then, and it's more pointless now, because now it's retarded twice.

do you guys remember how fat lendale was at the rose bowl this year? a few days after the game, i heard he weighed around 255 for that game, because on christmas day, he ate a whole turkey himself. he was quoted as saying it too. i too question his dedication to football. if you cant control your weight a week before the national title game, then you shouldnt be playing

All of you guys who draft for need are suckers for the biggest crap shoot in America. The key is to grab an out of favor guy like Dan Marino or Warren Sapp and laugh all the way to the bank. All Lendale White does is bowl people over and score TDs and he will turn out to be a bigger impact player in the NFL than Reggie Bush. If he falls to the Skins, they've got to pull the trigger. In the words of the late great Howard Cosell: The unpopular view is always the better view ... ultimately.
For to say LenDale is going to have for of a impact than Reggie Bush that could happen but I doubt it. Bush is the future of the league. If the Texans give Bush the ball enough, Domquine Davis will need to find another job. LenDale needs to go 2 a team that will allow him to run the ball 20-30 times a game and right now theres only 1 team that will and that's the Steelers. I like LenDale and I hope he and Reggie Bush have great careers. But I know the Redskins are not even looking at him at all.

MrMan978
April-6th-2006, 09:04 AM
That is true, that's why I wish that LenDale get's a chance to play. I don't want him to be another Ron Danye only use for short yards. If Arizona and Baltimore didn't sign RB in the offseason LenDale would be a lock in the top 15. Now he might slip to late first round.

The guys that were risky picks i.e. Moss and Sapp had off the field problems, but they were still physically able to perform. We are talking about a guy that showed up to the combine overweight, then showed up to pro day even more over weight. And he was unable to perform anything but the bench. Right now Lendale looks more like a d-tackle then a running back.
And the redskins have no need for a running back or TE. We need some help defensively there are plenty of hands on offense already. Look at the last team that drafted based on best available. The Lions are kicking themselvs because they have 3 best available wideouts that hate practice and are soft during the games.

White slacked off since the season ended, got fat and lazy and showed it at the combine. He did ONE more 225 BP rep than the USC kicker did that pressed right before him.

He still has 1st round talent and will be taken there, but he's been listening to his cousin Billiups too much and not taking this seriously.
