ESKY is back!!

I'm so glad to see that he's back. We are really going to need him this year. He had a sick game vs. Real Salt Lake. Those goals where nice. Anyway, just letting you guys know what's up.

P.S. What is up with the games this year? Are they all on Direct kick (DK) or what? Because I'm really trying to watch them this year.

As of right now, DC United doesn't have a deal with Comcast Sportsnet. In the past, they would get the deal done about a week before the opener. But this year has been different probably because of the Nationals.

Thats exactly what Esky said after the score... He screamed IM BACKKKKKKK.....I was there!!! That was a wicked volley, reminiscent of Duff during the Chelsea game!! Except Esky was not offsides :D

Esky? who is that? Pardon my ignorance but does Totti play in the american league now?

There is a reason there aren't many soccer fans here. It's called Big Soccer. The DCU faithful post there, of which I'm one. Check it out.

Erpen with the golazo from 38 yards out. Jamil scores on a flick that looked like Henri's earlier in the day v Spurs. And yes, Esky is back. The best thing about his first goal was the celebration. Spitting out a swig of Red Bull was hilarious.

And Big C, you sound like every rec league Euro snob in VA. Support your home league and attend games. I've seen DC beat Spurs, Forest, Newcastle United, and Blackburn. The only difference between Europe and MLS is the amount of money clubs can spend on rosters. And if you think I'm being a homer consider these words from Jose Mourinho about playing the MLS Allstars this year, "This time we will have a very tough game against the best players in the MLS. Last year we played DC United and I was very impressed with the standard of American players then."

rec league euro snob? its more like i enjoy watching beautiful, well played soccer that is in well organized leagues and play for something of meaning. i support all of the washington teams, id like dc united to do well, but i wont cry if they lose thats for sure

about mourinho, the dude is a tosser. we do have some talent in mls though, and i have been impressed with DC united this year. eskandarians goals have been very well taken, as was jamil walker's goal. erpens was very nice. the bad thing is, that these good players will soon go to europe. eddie johnson certainly will soon

cant go to the games. im at college at vt, far away from dc and dont have much extra money to spend on tickets for a dc game

I'll bet you're glad VT has a decent soccer team now, and have expanded the "stadium". I wish we could get some barra brava equivalents for the Hokies games.

Anyway, Euro soccer is more entertaining to watch. At home I get that soccer channel and watch it all the time, in Blacksburg European soccer is also what's being played either on ESPN or FX/Comcast. Comcast used to play United games, but they haven't this year, it really ticks me off. If it wasn't for the internet, I would have no idea what's going on with DC.

Back on point to the thread, I am thrilled Esky is back. He is such a Catalyst for the team. When he's around, things happen.

I don't understand why ther isn't a general soccer forum. Kind of like the 'Around the NFL' forum. We should also have that for basketball. I'm a huge soccer fan but I just don't watch MLS. I want to read threads about the UEFA cup final (Wed at 2:30), the World Cup, how much Ballack's contract with Chelsea is going to be, e.t.c.
