Last year when Nash won the MVP award so many people were bashing the guy. He's followed up that year with an even better year - without Amare Stoudemire which many credited for Nash's success last year. I don't know if he can beat out Lebron and some others but I think this guy has proven a lot. As for me I like this player because I like guys that make the people around them better.
Of course if Gilbert won the MVP (he won't I know) I'd be thrilled! :)

Nash deserved it last year and, if he wins it, will be deserving of it this year. He is a great ball player, and is, without a doubt, the most valuable player on the Suns, and one of the most valuable in the association.

I didn't understand why he got so much **** last year for winning it. The NBA (*and to a much further degree, ESPN) promotes its stars to an absurd level (at the expense of players like Gil and Nash), that I think people were just shocked that someone who isn't a marquee name could win it. He should get it again this year. Phoenix loses Amare, Joe Johnson, and Q, and replaces them with Boris Diaw, Raja Bell, and a mannequin at C, and are still the 3rd best team in the West, and 4th best overall, and they did it without someone who scores 35 ppg on 40 shots/game. It's obviously going to Kobe or LeBron, but I'd argue that Nash has less talent around him and has a much better team than both.

I totally agree with you. Steve Nash is always disregarded for how great he plays. Yes he gets media attention , but hes done great for so long on a consistent basis that he doesnt enough. Nash in my opinion is the best point guard in the NBA . He makes everybody around him better and he is also a good scorer. For example, Rajah Bell. Bell's points per game average has gone up 2.5 from last year , which isnt a big difference , but he is way more of a scorer now than any of his previous years in the league. Another example is Tim Thomas. After being picked up by the Suns , he had 23 points in his first game. Before that , Thomas was struggling to even score ten points. The most obvious reason is the play of the team when Nash isnt in. The point total , field goal percentage and many other offensive stats are down when Nash isnt playing.
